Power Risers/Fallers for Week 25: Buy or Sell? rotoballer.com Thu 9/20/18 7:30 AM

Welcome to Week 25 of the 2018 MLB season and a new week of our investigation into the steepest power trenders in baseball, whether those trends are positive or negative. We have somehow blown by into mid-September, which means the homestretch of 2018 is upon us. Most fantasy baseball leagues have already had their trade deadlines come and go, and the only decisions left for managers to make in terms of personnel are whether players are worth the AB they are receiving and whether a player is [...]

Kevin Kiermaier Big Early Versus Oakland Saturday rotoballer.com Sun 9/16/18 1:16 AM

Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Kevin Kiermaier was heavily involved in the early offense for the Rays Saturday versus the Athletics. He would score the first run of the game, triple in the third run for Tampa Bay and promptly get knocked in for the fourth. Kiermaier has always been considered talented but could never seem to stay healthy. He had also battled injury this season which may have contributed to his struggles. The current productive stretch offers hope that perhaps he has worked things ou[...]

Hitter Streamers (Week 25) - Head-to-Head Leagues rotoballer.com Sat 9/15/18 9:51 AM

Welcome back to my hitting streamers column for Week 25, taking a look at hitters to add or stream off the waiver wire for this week's scheduled games. To keep things simple, I pick from players who are 50% owned or less and who play at least seven games in the week.  If someone jumps off the page at me as a less than seven game player, I may make an exception, but otherwise, the advantage in a number of games dictates my choices. Streaming can be a valuable tool, by allowing you to feast[...]

Welcome to Contact Rate Risers and Fallers! Our premium tools allow us to get out ahead of trends in player performance, including contact rate. Every Wednesday, we'll be looking at some players that have seen an increase in contact rate and some that have seen it decline. Contact rate can foretell a player's batting average and general hitting statistics, and any drastic change could signal a shift in performance. Contact rate shifts often act as a precursor to hot streaks and slumps. He[...]

Kevin Kiermaier Dealing With General Illness rotoballer.com Tue 9/11/18 5:43 PM

Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Kevin Kiermaier (illness) is still sick and isn't playing on Tuesday while dealing with "general illness," according to manager Kevin Cash. Cash also said Kiermaier is dealing with "a head cold, stomach doesn't feel too good, pretty ache-y." It's a shame, because Kiermaier had been swinging a hot bat this month. It's unclear when he might return, but he could only miss a day or two more.

Are You For Real? Surprising SP Starts (Week 24) rotoballer.com Tue 9/11/18 7:00 AM

Welcome to our surprising starts series. Every week we'll be going over a few surprising starting pitcher performances around the majors to determine whether these starts were smoke and mirrors or something more. This week we saw a pitcher flirt with a perfect game, another solid performance from a no-name pitcher, and the possible resurgence of a former ERA-king. Jorge Lopez took a perfect game into the ninth Saturday and has had two straight great starts for the Royals. Felix Pena has fi[...]

Kevin Kiermaier Seeing Doctor Monday rotoballer.com Mon 9/10/18 5:03 PM

Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Kevin Kiermaier (illness) has shown multiple symptoms and will visit with a doctor on Monday. Manager Kevin Cash is hoping it's no worse than a severe head cold. Depending on the diagnosis, Kiermaier is now in danger of missing more than just one game. He has been red-hot in the month of September, too, so his fantasy owners are hoping he's just dealing with a cold.

Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Kevin Kiermaier (illness) and infielder Matt Duffy (back) are both out of the starting lineup on Monday. Duffy has been hitting, too, going 8-for-26 (.308) with no homers and seven RBI in the same time frame. Both players figure to be day-to-day and could return on Tuesday. Joey [...]
