Kevin Correia spun seven innings of one-run ball in a 6-1 win over the Orioles on Saturday. It was easily his best start of the year. Correia held the O's to five hits and no walks and the lone run scored on an RBI single from J.J. Hardy in the second inning. He retired 13 out of the final 14 batters he faced before giving way to the bullpen. Even with the excellent outing, the 33-year-old has a 6.09 ERA through six starts this season. He'll attempt to keep chipping away at that ERA with a tough assignment against the Red Sox next week.

Kevin Correia was obliterated in Friday's loss to the Tigers, surrendering seven runs on eight hits in just 2 1/3 innings. Correia also issued a pair of free passes and didn't record a strikeout. Nick Castellanos tagged him for a two-run homer in the second inning to begin the scoring, then the Tigers hung six more runs on him while chasing him from the game in the third inning. The veteran right-hander will carry a highly disappointing 7.33 ERA and 1.67 WHIP into Thursday's matchup against the Dodgers in Minnesota. He shouldn't be started in any fantasy leagues at this point.

Kevin Correia gave up five runs -- four earned -- in six innings Saturday in a loss to the Royals. Correia and Mike Pelfrey are fighting it out for the honor of being first bumped from the Minnesota rotation. It'd be nice to see the Twins go to someone with a little more upside, whether it's Samuel Deduno or Triple-A Rochester's Kris Johnson. Prospect Alex Meyer could be a factor, too, though probably not for another six weeks or so. Correia is currently 0-2 with a 5.47 ERA.

Kevin Correia allowed three runs over seven-plus innings in taking a no-decision against the Royals on Sunday. Correia was strong for most of the day, throwing seven shutout innings before allowing three runs without recording an out in the eighth. The big inning blew his chance of picking up his first win of the year, and he'll continue to search for it in a rematch with the Royals next weekend.

Kevin Correia was lit up for six runs over 5 2/3 innings in Monday's loss to the Athletics. He yielded nine hits -- including a home run -- while walking two and striking out three. Correia posted a quality start last week in Chicago, but as rarely as he misses bats he's going to be vulnerable when his stuff isn't spot-on. The veteran right-hander will try to get back on track this weekend against the Royals.

Kevin Correia yielded four runs and seven hits in three innings versus Pittsburgh on Wednesday. Pedro Alvarez hit a two-run homer off him. If the Twins had succeeded in their bid for Ervin Santana, they could have made Correia available in trade talks. As is, it looks like he'll be back in their rotation as the third or fourth starter. He's a poor bet in AL-only leagues.

Kevin Correia allowed just one run over seven innings but the Twins fell to the Tigers on Wednesday. Correia got zero support from the Minnesota offense, which was foiled all night by Detroit starter Max Scherzer. Correia struck out one and walked none. He'll finish the 2013 regular season with a 9-13 record, 4.18 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 101/45 K/BB ratio in 185 1/3 innings. The 33-year-old right-hander is under contract with the Twins for $5.5 million in 2014.

Kevin Correia yielded two runs over five innings Thursday in a no-decision against the Athletics. Correia allowed six hits and five walks while throwing just 53 out of 101 pitches for strikes, so things could have been much worse. It was his shortest start since August 5. He'll bring a 4.29 ERA into a tough matchup against the Tigers next week. Don't trust him as a fantasy option.

Kevin Correia delivered a quality start in Friday's loss to the Rays, allowing three runs on eight hits over his six-plus frames. Correia racked up five strikeouts on the evening while issuing just one free pass. The Rays never mounted a serious rally against him, instead striking for single runs in the second, third and seventh innings. While he hasn't been tremendous, Correia has at least logged some quality innings for the Twins this season, registering a 4.31 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 99/40 K/BB ratio over 173 1/3 innings. He'll look to get back in the win column when he takes on the Athletics in Oakland on Thursday.

Kevin Correia was hammered for five runs in six innings Saturday in a loss to the Blue Jays. Correia was coming off two straight dominant efforts and couldn't continue that roll. Toronto tagged him for seven hits -- including home runs by Adam Lind and Brett Lawrie -- and then continued the pounding against the Minnesota bullpen. Correia has a 4.30 ERA and 1.41 WHIP.
