Morales went 2-for-3 with a solo homer in an 8-5 victory against the Orioles on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
The 35-year-old is off to a slow start, as this was not only his first homer but also his first extra-base hit of the year. Morales had only one RBI heading into Thursday as well. He's walking a fair amount, so even after the homer, Morales has a higher on-base percentage than slugging percentage. He is slashing .243/.349/.324 with one homer, two RBi and four runs in 12 games this season.

Morales is not in Tuesday's lineup against the Orioles.
EDGE Analysis
He takes a seat with lefty John Means on the hill for the O's. Mark Canha starts at first base and will hit sixth. The rest of the starters Baltimore will deploy in this four-game series are right-handed, so Morales should get his opportunities to take advantage of this horrific pitching staff.

Morales is not in the lineup Thursday against the Red Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Morales will hit the bench as the A's go with Mark Canha at first base with southpaw Eduardo Rodriguez starting for the opposition. Through six games this season, the veteran slugger is 3-for-14 with a 3:2 BB:K.

Contrary to a previous report, Morales is starting at first base and hitting fifth Tuesday against the Red Sox.
EDGE Analysis
The A's Twitter account tweeted a lineup with Mark Canha starting at first base, but followed up that tweet stating Canha will actually start in left field and Morales will get the nod at first base. Chris Sale is starting for the Red Sox, so it's not a great matchup, but Morales will indeed be in the lineup.

Morales is not in Tuesday's lineup against the Red Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Righty-hitting Mark Canha starts at first base with lefty Chris Sale on the bump for Boston. Morales is 2-for-8 with two walks and a strikeout in four games thus far with the A's. He will likely make way for Canha against most lefties.

Morales is starting Friday's game against the Angels at first base.
EDGE Analysis
Morales will take the field for the first time in an Oakland uniform after being dealt from the Blue Jays on Wednesday. He'll likely platoon at first base until Matt Olson (hand) is cleared to return from injury.

Manager Bob Melvin suggested that Morales will platoon at first base with Mark Canha until Matt Olson (hand) is ready to return, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Morales hit just .199/.258/.324 with three homers against southpaws last season (151 plate appearances), compared to his .274/.366/.495 slash line with 18 homers against right-handers (320 plate appearances), so this isn't all too surprising. The veteran slugger was acquired from the Blue Jays on Wednesday.

Morales was traded from the Blue Jays to the A's on Wednesday along with cash considerations in exchange for Jesus Lopez and international bonus pool money, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
This comes as a bit of a surprise on the eve of Opening Day. Morales will presumably slot in as Oakland's primary first baseman with Matt Olson (hand) slated to open the season on the injured list. The veteran slugger hit .249/.331/.438 with 21 homers and 57 RBI in 130 games for the Blue Jays last season. While Morales joins a stronger lineup in Oakland, he also heads to a less hitter-friendly venue in the Coliseum.

Morales went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in Saturday's split-squad game against the Yankees.
EDGE Analysis
He took J.A. Happ deep in the second inning for his first homer of the spring. Morales appears just about ready for the regular season, hitting .276/.344/.448 through 32 plate appearances, and the 35-year-old figures to be a reliable power once again as the starting DH.

Morales went 1-for-3 with two RBI in Thursday's 11-2 victory over Tampa Bay.
EDGE Analysis
Morales plated a run in the third inning on a single to left field, his fifth RBI of spring training. Although he's gotten off to a relatively slow start (4-for-18) at the dish, he's expected to put up big power numbers in 2019 after belting 21 and 28 homers in his previous two seasons.
