Turner (face) is making "big improvements," according to Ian Browne of MLB.com. Turner might take batting practice Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
In addition to taking BP in the near future, Turner is also getting his stitches removed after he was hit in the face by a pitch and taken to the hospital earlier this week. Turner received 16 stitches and dealt with significant swelling, but he cleared all is scans and appears tentatively on track to be ready for Opening Day.

Turner (face) visited the Red Sox' spring training complex Thursday and the team is hopeful he'll have time to get ready for Opening Day, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.
EDGE Analysis
Turner will not resume on-field workouts until his stitches are removed, which is expected to happen in about two weeks. That gives him a pretty tight window to knock some rust off before the opener, but it seems doable since he already has six games under his belt and, as a veteran, probably doesn't need a ton of at-bats.

Manager Alex Cora said Wednesday that Turner (face) will probably be out two weeks, Mike Monaco of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
The timeline offered by Cora suggests that Turner, who was hit in the face Monday and required 16 stitches to seal the wound, will be cutting it close for Opening Day. If the veteran infielder needs to miss time, he likely won't need to spend more than the minimum 10 days on the injured list at the start of the regular season.

Turner (face) has left the hospital and returned home to rest, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
According to an update from his wife Kourtney Turner, Turner had to undergo 16 stitches and is dealing with a lot of swelling, but the veteran suffered no fractures and cleared all of his scans. The injury occurred when he was struck in the face during Monday's Grapefruit League contest against the Tigers. It's very positive news, but the timetable as to when Turner will return to action this spring is not yet known.

Turner (face) is being treated for soft-tissue injuries and monitored for a concussion at a hospital after exiting Monday's game when he was hit in the face by a pitch, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Red Sox say Turner is stable, alert and in good spirits, all things considered, which is very nice to hear. It does not appear he suffered any fractures as a result of the hit by pitch, but obviously he's far from out of the woods. Turner will be examined closely over the next few days and more should be known later this week about his status for the coming weeks and Opening Day. If he does need to miss time, it would open up some playing time in the Red Sox' designated hitter spot.

Turner was taken to a hospital in an ambulance after being struck in the face with a pitch Monday versus the Tigers, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.
EDGE Analysis
Turner was hit by a Matt Manning pitch in the first inning in a scary situation at JetBlue Park. The Red Sox have yet to offer any additional updates on Turner other than he's been transported to the hospital, but the team should have more on the infielder's condition later Monday.

Turner was removed from Monday's Grapefruit League game versus the Tigers after being hit in the face by a pitch, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.
EDGE Analysis
A pitch in the bottom of the first inning got away from Tigers right-hander Matt Manning, striking Turner. He eventually walked off the field with a trainer, holding a bloody towel to his face. The Red Sox should offer an update on Turner's condition before long.

Turner agreed to a two-year deal worth just under $22 million with the Red Sox on Sunday, and the deal includes an opt out after the first year, Jeff Passan and Joon Lee of ESPN.com report.
EDGE Analysis
A staple in the Dodgers' lineup for nearly a decade, Turner will join the Red Sox ahead of his age-38 campaign. The veteran third baseman had a .788 OPS with 13 home runs and 36 doubles in 128 games last season, with his .438 SLG being the lowest since he was with the Mets in 2013. Rafael Devers is locked in at the hot corner for Boston, so Turner should see most of his plate appearances as a designated hitter.

The Dodgers declined Turner's $16 million club option for 2023 on Thursday, making him a free agent, Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Turner finished up his ninth campaign with Los Angeles in 2022 and had a .278/.350/.438 slash line with 13 home runs, 81 RBI and 61 runs in 128 games. The veteran split time between third base and designated hitter last season and will now return to the open market, though the Dodgers are apparently interested in re-signing him at a lower price.

Turner isn't in the lineup Monday against Colorado, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Turner returned from a four-game absence Sunday and went 1-for-4 with a strikeout. Max Muncy is starting at third base while Trayce Thompson serves as the designated hitter Monday.
