J.P. Arencibia was the only Blue Jays hitter to show up Friday in Arlington, as he belted a pair of solo homers in the blowout loss.
An Adam Lind single was the only other base knock the Jays could muster in the 12-2 laugher. They were Arencibia's first two bombs of July, but he now has 14 on the year to go along with 41 RBI. You'll take that from a catcher even though he's batting just .215.

Blue Jays manager John Farrell said J.P. Arencibia's left wrist responded well to initial tests and the feeling is that the injury is not serious.
He was injured when a Jonathan Papelbon fastball hit him on the wrist in the ninth inning of Wednesday's game. Arencibia is not out of the woods yet, as fractures can often show up the next day, but for now the news is promising. He will be reevaluated on Thursday.

There's no early word on the severity, but it's always worrisome when a player gets hit on the hand/wrist area. Arencibia is likely headed for X-rays. We'll update his condition when more information becomes available.

J.P. Arencibia blasted his 12th home run in Thursday's loss to the Pirates.
He and Yunel Escobar both took Jeff Karstens deep in the fifth, but those solo shots are the only runs the Jays could put together. Arencibia finishes June with a .159 average, but he's been consistent in the power department, belting four longballs each month so far.

J.P. Arencibia picked up one of just two Blue Jays hits in a 2-0 loss to the Braves on Monday.
He singled off Tim Hudson in the second, who would then not allow another hit until the ninth. Through his first 53 at-bats this month, Arencibia is batting just .153. His sore left thumb is clearly affecting him.

Blue Jays manager John Farrell plans to start J.P. Arencibia just two of every three games until he gets over his sore left thumb.
Arencibia can play with the ailment, but it's affected him at the plate, as he has just two hits in his last 25 at-bats since suffering the injury. Jose Molina will catch at least one game per series, with Farrell trying to match him up with Brandon Morrow and Zach Stewart when possible.
