Winder (2-1) picked up the loss, allowing four runs (three earned) on six hits and three walks while striking out two in 3.1 innings of a 5-0 defeat Thursday against Houston.
EDGE Analysis
Winder threw only forty-five of his 77 pitches for strikes as he struggled with command. The big blow against him was a two-run blast by Yordan Alvarez in the third inning. After allowing only six baserunners in his first two starts combined, the rookie allowed nine batters to reach safely Thursday. Despite his poor outing, he still has a solid 2.45 ERA and 0.97 WHIP in his first 25.2 big-league innings.

Winder is lined up to start Thursday's game against the Astros, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Dylan Bundy's (illness) recent move to the COVID-19-related injured list along with Bailey Ober's (groin) ongoing absence will allow Winder to make a third consecutive turn through the rotation, even though he certainly earned it from a performance standpoint. Between his first two starts against the Rays and Athletics, Winder went 2-0 while racking up 15 strikeouts against one walk over 12 scoreless innings. Even against an 18-11 Astros squad, Winder still looks like a quality streaming option in leagues where he's available.

Winder (2-0) picked up the win in Friday's 2-1 victory over the A's, giving up only one unearned run on three hits over six innings. He struck out eight without walking a batter.
EDGE Analysis
Making just his second big-league start, Winder delivered his second straight quality start while once again dominating the opposition, and a Jorge Polanco error in the sixth inning was the only reason Oakland got on the board at all. Winder got his chance to join the rotation when Bailey Ober (groin) landed on the injured list, but the rookie doesn't seem inclined to head back to the bullpen any time soon. Winder will take a 1.61 ERA, 0.72 WHIP and 20:4 K:BB through 22.1 innings into his next outing.

Winder is listed as the starter for Friday's game against the Athletics.
EDGE Analysis
Winder was considered likely to make a second turn through the rotation, and he'll officially be on the mound for Friday's series opener against Oakland. He struck out seven in six scoreless innings to earn the win in his first major-league start Sunday against the Rays.

Winder is expected to make his second straight turn through the Minnesota rotation Friday in Oakland, Megan Ryan of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Winder turned heads in his first big-league start Sunday in Tampa Bay, striking out seven over six scoreless frames en route to claiming the win. Despite the excellent outing, Winder wasn't a lock to receive a second start this week, but the Twins' decision to have Sonny Gray (hamstring) make one more minor-league rehab appearance paves the way for the rookie to get another turn. Barring any setbacks in his upcoming outing with Triple-A St. Paul, Gray should be ready to return from the 10-day injured list next week, so Winder still doesn't look like he'll have much longevity in the big-league rotation.

Winder (1-0) earned the win Sunday at Tampa Bay after striking out seven over six scoreless innings. He allowed only two hits and one walk.
EDGE Analysis
The 25-year-old pitched in long relief his first three appearances of the year, but he made his first big-league start Sunday and shut down the Rays. Winder threw 54 of his 83 pitches for strikes and allowed only one baserunner to reach second base. Despite the impressive performance, the young right-hander may be headed back to the bullpen since Sonny Gray (hamstring) made a rehab start Sunday and could return from the injured list this week.

Winder will start Sunday's game against the Rays, Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Twins are down a couple starters at the moment, so Winder will get a chance to make his first big-league start. He tossed 4.0 innings and 5.1 innings of relief in his last two appearances, so he could stay out there long enough to qualify for the win if he is put in position to do so.

Winder is a candidate to draw a start sometime next week, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Twins have several holes in their rotation, as Sonny Gray (hamstring) is on the injured list and is slated for a rehab start soon, while Bailey Ober (groin) is expected to land on the IL after exiting Thursday's start against Detroit. Winder has served as a long reliever early in the year, posting a 3.48 ERA and 0.97 WHIP in 10.1 innings over three appearances. The right-hander was a starter in the minors, and it seems likely that he'll get to prove himself as a big-league starter sometime next week.

Winder gave up two runs on four hits and one walk over 5.1 innings of relief with two strikeouts in Saturday's loss to Boston.
EDGE Analysis
Winder entered the game in the second inning after Sonny Gray left with a hamstring injury. He gave up a two-run home run to Xander Bogaerts but was otherwise impressive. Even if Gray misses additional action, Winder is likely to remain in a long relief role as the Twins were already deploying a six-man rotation, but the rookie could get a shot at starting if another spot opens up.

Winder has officially made Minnesota's Opening Day roster.
EDGE Analysis
Winder was a leading candidate for a rotation spot until the Twins acquired Chris Archer and Chris Paddack. He'll work in long relief initially likely coming in if a starter has a reduced workload. It will be interesting to see if he sticks with the Twins after rosters are reduced back to 26 players in May or if he'll move to the rotation at Triple-A, as his long-term outlook is still thought to be a starter.
