Winder (shoulder) threw a bullpen session Monday, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Winder looks to have taken the next step forward in his spring throwing progress after he had previously been limited to playing catch off flat ground, but he still finds himself behind the Twins' other healthy pitchers in camp while he works his way back from right shoulder soreness. The injury apparently surfaced while Winder was working out in December, and though the shoulder issue isn't yet being viewed as anything that jeopardizes his availability for Opening Day, it could hinder his chances of breaking camp as a member of the rotation.

Winder is behind schedule in Twins camp due to right shoulder soreness, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Winder first started feeling soreness in the shoulder back in December, so the Twins are easing him into things. He's only about a week behind schedule, however, and there doesn't seem to be real worry at this point about Winder's availability for the start of the season. The righty is expected to be used as a starter this spring but projects to be on the outside looking in to the Twins' Opening Day rotation.

Winder will be developed as a starter during spring training, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Winder was able to make 11 starts and 15 total appearances for the Twins in 2022, and while there were some flashes in his time with Minnesota, he ultimately finished with a 4.70 ERA over 67 innings of work. The right-hander will have a chance to win the fifth starting spot, but there's just as much risk in his profile -- if not more -- than there is reward.

Winder (4-6) allowed four runs on five hits, a walk and a hit batsman while striking out two over 2.1 innings, taking the loss Tuesday versus the White Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Winder wasn't at his best in his last outing of the year. The White Sox did all their damage against him in the third inning, though it could have been worse had Aaron Sanchez not gotten a double play to end the threat in that frame. The rookie right-hander finished the campaign with a 4.70 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 47:18 K:BB across 67 innings spanning 15 appearances (11 starts) at the major-league level. He failed to complete five innings in four of his five outings after a recall to the big leagues in September.

Winder did not factor into the decision Wednesday, allowing three runs on six hits over 4.2 innings against the White Sox. He struck out six.
EDGE Analysis
Winder fell victim to small ball as he allowed two RBI singles and a sacrifice fly. In four starts since being recalled from Triple-A St. Paul on Sept. 11, the 25-year-old rookie has posted an unspectacular 5.59 ERA and 1.29 WHIP over 19.1 innings, with five home runs allowed during that span.

Winder (4-5) allowed three earned runs on six hits and a walk while striking out four across six innings to take the loss Thursday against the Royals.
EDGE Analysis
Winder served up a pair of solo home runs but still managed to turn in a quality start. In three starts since being recalled by the Twins, Winder has maintained a 5.53 ERA with a 10:3 K:BB across 14.2 innings. Overall, he has a 4.20 ERA in 50 frames on the campaign while serving as both a starter and reliever with the Twins.

Winder allowed four runs on six hits, a walk and a hit batter while striking out two over 4.2 innings in a no-decision versus the Guardians in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader.
EDGE Analysis
Winder gave up an Oscar Gonzalez RBI double in the first inning, and then yielded a three-run home run to Jose Ramirez in the fifth. It looked like Winder would take the loss, but Minnesota rallied to tie the game in the eighth, and it turned into a 15-inning marathon before it was over. Winder hasn't completed five innings in either of his two starts since returning from Triple-A St. Paul. He has a 4.17 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 35:16 K:BB through 54 innings across 12 appearances (eight starts) in his rookie campaign. He's tentatively projected for a road start in Kansas City next week.

Winder (4-4) took the loss Sunday, allowing two runs on four hits and one walk over four innings against the Guardians. He struck out four.
EDGE Analysis
After being called up earlier in the day, Winder made it through four innings but was damaged by the long ball. Andres Gimenez got to him for a solo homer in the second, and Steven Kwan tagged him for another solo shot in the third. The home runs do not come as much of a surprise given his fly ball tendencies and lack of bat-missing ability. His 41.0 percent fly ball rate coming into Sunday would rank 15th among qualified pitchers, and his 15.3 percent strikeout rate entering Sunday would be the second lowest among qualified pitchers.

The Twins recalled Winder from Triple-A St. Paul ahead of his scheduled start Sunday against the Guardians.
EDGE Analysis
Though Winder will be stepping in as Minnesota's No. 5 starter while Tyler Mahle (shoulder) is on the 15-day injured list, the Twins moved another starter (Chris Archer, pectoral) to the IL to clear room on the 28-man active roster for the rookie. Winder has previously made 10 appearances (six starts) for Minnesota this season, logging a 3.77 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 29:14 K:BB across 45.1 innings.

Winder will be recalled from Triple-A St. Paul to start Sunday against the Guardians, Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Winder was scratched from his scheduled start for St. Paul on Saturday, and the Twins later confirmed that Winder will get the ball for the series finale against Cleveland after Aaron Sanchez was used in relief Friday. Winder, who missed extended time with a shoulder injury, threw four innings apiece in his first two starts back at Triple-A.
