The Rays placed Lowe (oblique) on the 10-day injured list Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Though Lowe is dealing with a Grade 1 right oblique strain -- the most mild degree of strain -- he has yet to resume baseball activities since suffering the injury in mid-March and is on track to miss more than the minimum 10 days. According to MLB.com, Lowe will essentially need to complete a full spring training progression once he's cleared for activities, so at this stage, he's likely tracking for a late-April or early-May return. While Lowe is on the shelf to open the season, Richie Palacios, Harold Ramirez and Amed Rosario could all be in store for extra playing time in the corner outfield or at designated hitter.

Lowe (hip) will begin the season on the injured list after being diagnosed with an oblique injury Sunday, Kristie Ackert of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 26-year-old was poised to start Sunday after missing the first half of March with left hip inflammation, per Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times, but the oblique issue will instead keep him sidelined. It's unclear when Lowe may be able to return, but he'll likely require a ramp-up period once healthy since he's played in just two games during spring training.

Lowe (hip) said Tuesday that he's "pretty much full go" and is aiming to return to Grapefruit League play Sunday or Monday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lowe tested out his left hip with some running over the weekend and came out of it without setbacks. The outfielder remains confident he will be ready for Opening Day, but it would certainly be comforting to see him back on the field first. To this point, Lowe has just two spring games and four plate appearances under his belt.

Lowe (hip) is feeling better but is still a week away from returning to game action, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lowe was shut down from baseball activity in late February and was originally projected to be sidelined for only six days. However, the injury seems to be lingering as his timeline has been pushed back on a few occasions. If Lowe can return within a week, there shouldn't be much concern about his availability for Opening Day, but at this point, it will be reassuring to see him retake the field.

Rays manager Kevin Cash said Wednesday that Lowe (hip) will be ready for full baseball activities in "probably another week if all goes well," Kristie Ackert of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lowe is coming along slightly slower than the Rays anticipated, as he had previously appeared poised to resume activities later this week. The outfielder is dealing with left hip inflammation, which has limited him to just two games so far this spring. His Opening Day availability doesn't seem to be in danger just yet, but Lowe is facing a tight window to get himself ready for the start of the season.

Lowe (hip) will be re-evaluated Tuesday and could resume baseball activities within the next couple days, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lowe has been shut down for the last few days with left hip inflammation but appears to be making nice progress. More will be known about his outlook in the coming days, but Lowe remains confident that he will be available for the Rays on Opening Day.

Rays manager Kevin Cash said Thursday that Lowe has been shut down from baseball activities for the next six days due to left hip inflammation, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
While Lowe could be cleared to resume activities next week once the shutdown period ends, Topkin suggests that the outfielder won't immediately be rushed back into games and may not re-enter the Grapefruit League lineup for the next 10-to-15 days. So long as Lowe is playing again by mid-March, his availability for Opening Day shouldn't be in much peril, but any setback along the way would put the 26-year-old at risk of a stint on the injured list.

Lowe is starting in right field and batting cleanup Wednesday in Game 2 of the AL Wild Card Series against the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
Lowe was not in the lineup for Game 1, although he did come off the bench to draw a walk as a pinch hitter. He'll not only enter the batting order for Game 2 but do so as the cleanup hitter, pushing Manuel Margot over to center field and Jose Siri to the bench.

Lowe is not in the lineup for Tuesday's Game 1 of the AL Wild Card Series against the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
Lowe often doesn't start versus left-handers, and he will begin this one on the bench as Texas throws southpaw Jordan Montgomery. Manuel Margot will be in right field for Tampa Bay.

Lowe is not in the lineup Friday against the Blue Jays.
EDGE Analysis
Randy Arozarena, Manuel Margot and Harold Ramirez will start across the outfield as the Rays roll with an all-right-handed lineup versus Jays left-hander Yusei Kikuchi. The lefty-swinging Lowe has slashed just .220/.270/.390 in 63 plate appearances this year against southpaws.
