MLB Closers and Saves Report - Week 5 rotoballer.com Fri 5/4/18 3:45 AM
It was quite an eventful week in bullpens across the league as some bullpens got a shot in the arm while others got a punch in the face. A closer landed on the disabled list, someone set a record by striking out all eight batters he faced, and we finally got some clarity from a confusing bullpen.
It was a week of highs and lows, with Josh Hader punching out eight-of-eight, Keone Kela almost punching out his team in the ninth inning, and Ken Giles almost punching out himself. It was [...]
Josh Hader Named NL Reliever Of The Month rotoballer.com Wed 5/2/18 2:38 PM
Milwaukee Brewers relief pitcher Josh Hader has been named NL Reliever of the Month for the months of March and April. During this stretch, Hader has pitched for a 1.00 ERA and 0.47 WHIP in 18 innings of work with an astonishing 39 strikeouts. [...]
Josh Hader Won't Pitch on Tuesday rotoballer.com Tue 5/1/18 2:00 PM
Milwaukee Brewers relief pitcher Josh Hader (rest) will not pitch against the Cincinnati Reds on Tuesday, according to manager Craig Counsell. Hader struck out eight of the nine batters he faced during Monday's contest. He picked up his fourth save of the season, but won't see as many save chances once Corey Knebel (hamstring) returns in a few weeks. Fantasy owners can bench Hader for Tuesday's contest.
Josh Hader Makes The History Books In Save rotoballer.com Tue 5/1/18 9:29 AM
Milwaukee Brewers relief pitcher Josh Hader went 2 2/3 innings pitched on Monday, giving up a walk while striking out eight in the 6-5 win over the Cincinnati Reds. Brewers manager Craig Counsell sent Hader out for two outs in the seventh and left him out there, which ended up being a good decision, as he struck out every single batter he received an out on. In terms of the history books, this was the first ever MLB appearance where a pitcher had eight strikeouts for all recorded outs as well as[...]
Josh Hader Locks Down Third Save Of 2018 rotoballer.com Sun 4/22/18 1:57 PM
Milwaukee Brewers relief pitcher Josh Hader pitched two innings, giving up one hit, one unearned run, one walk, and struck out three in the 4-2 win over the Miami Marlins. Despite Hader pitching an inning yesterday in a losing scenario, it looks like he's back to closing games for the Brewers. It seems that they aren't going to reserve Hader for closing scenarios like they would for Corey Knebel upon return, however, if he's ready to go when the team is up, he'll most certainly be sent out there[...]
Brewers Closer Role Remains Uncertain As Ever rotoballer.com Sat 4/21/18 8:00 PM
The Milwaukee Brewers closer remains uncertain as ever, with the injury of Corey Knebel as Josh Hader, Jacob Barnes, and Matt Albers all pitched in situations where the Brewers were down on Saturday against the Miami Marlins. This may be because Barnes and Hader hadn't pitched in a couple days, however, were chosen over Jeremy Jeffress who ended up pitching the ninth inning before the Brewers walked it off. All of Barnes, Hader, and Albers came in when the game was 5-4 for the Marlins. Despite a[...]
Josh Hader Locks Down Another Two-Inning Save; Looks To Be Closer rotoballer.com Tue 4/17/18 6:47 PM
Milwaukee Brewers relief pitcher Josh Hader locked down his second save in as many appearances in the 2-0 win over the Cincinnati Reds. He went two innings and struck out three for the save. Hader was originally one of the pitchers in the Brewers bullpen who was almost guaranteed to not get save appearances, but it seems Brewers manager Craig Counsell has figured it out. In the last two appearances for Hader (where he recorded two saves), he came out to start the eighth inning. Hader's value as [...]
Josh Hader Gets First Save Of 2018 Season rotoballer.com Sat 4/14/18 8:47 PM
Milwaukee Brewers relief pitcher Josh Hader went two innings and allowed no base runners with five strikeouts in the 5-1 win over the New York Mets. Hader came in the eighth when the score was 4-1, and after the Brewers scored another run in the ninth, they decided to keep him out there and finish the game. This is not exactly indicative of Hader being put in a closer role as Matt Albers coming in for the ninth would've been a non-save situation, so this was most likely the Brewers not wanting t[...]
Josh Hader Most Likely Won't Get Save Situations rotoballer.com Wed 4/11/18 10:39 AM
Milwaukee Brewers relief pitcher Josh Hader is believed to be much more useful as a multi-inning threat in the middle-relief spot than as a closer, according to manager Craig Counsell. Hader's value coming in the sixth inning with the bases loaded is a lot more important than coming in the ninth for the save. Most likely the only chance he will get a save chance will be if he is saved for the ninth and he is needed to get out of a bases-loaded jam. Hader will remain one of the best pitchers in h[...]
Josh Hader Strikes Out Four Batters In Appearance rotoballer.com Mon 4/9/18 7:22 PM
Milwaukee Brewers relief pitcher Josh Hader went 1 1/3 innings and got four strikeouts, only giving up one walk in the 5-4 win over the St. Louis Cardinals. Hader is easily one of the best holds pitches in baseball, as this gives him his third hold this season. In 6 1/3 innings pitched this season, Hader has only given up one hit and one earned run. If this isn't dominance, I'm not sure what is. Expect high amounts of K's and great ratios from Hader going forward, however, pick him up expecting [...]
