Donaldson is out of the lineup Sunday against the Angels, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Blue Jays will roll out their "B" lineup for the series finale, as Troy Tulowitzki's recent placement on the disabled list along with days off for Donaldson and Jose Bautista will leave the team without many impact bats in the top half of the batting order. Donaldson will rest for the first time since July 5 after slashing an underwhelming .239/.386/.366 over his last 20 starts.

Donaldson went 1-for-7 with a strikeout in Tuesday's 15-inning loss to the Red Sox.
EDGE Analysis
The big news here is that Donaldson appeared to be in pain after tagging out Xander Bogaerts in the 11th inning, but remained in the game anyway. Nothing has been announced about a possible injury, so it could be nothing, but it is something to monitor over the next couple days to see if any side effects linger.

Donaldson went 1-for-1 with a three-run homer, three walks and two runs Saturday against the Astros.
EDGE Analysis
Donaldson blasted his ninth homer of the season to erase a one-run deficit which helped the Blue Jays pick up a home victory. The blast was his first since June 11, and he's now slugging .478, and hopefully he'll get back on track as the second half of the season approaches.

Donaldson went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run during Thursday's win over Houston.
EDGE Analysis
After receiving a breather Wednesday and starting the month in an 0-for-13 slump, this was an encouraging showing form for Donaldson. He's been limited to just 43 games and owns a disappointing .238/.350/.457 slash line for the campaign, but there's still potential for a strong second half. Pouncing on a buy-low opportunity could pay off handsomely.

Donaldson is out of the starting lineup Wednesday against the Yankees.
EDGE Analysis
Donaldson is off to a rough start this month, going 0-for-13 with seven strikeouts through four games, so he'll get a chance to clear his head Wednesday. In what has already been a disappointing season, the 31-year-old's 1.0 WAR this season is far below his 8.15 average since arriving in Toronto back in 2014. Russell Martin will get the start at third base in his absence.

Donaldson extended his slump to 1-for-26 after going 0-for-3 with a walk and two strikeouts Tuesday against the Yankees.
EDGE Analysis
The slugger has just one hit over his last eight games, and Donaldson's batting average is down to a season-low .238. He hasn't homered since June 11, and the third baseman owns a 16:6 K:BB over his last 11 contests. To say Donaldson has struggled of late would be an understatement, but the 31-year-old is too good to allow this slump to work its way past the upcoming break.

Donaldson (knee) will start at third base Friday against the Royals, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet reports.
EDGE Analysis
Donaldson was scratched from Thursday's lineup with left knee soreness, but is seemingly good to go after getting a pass from the trainers Friday. The third baseman will be hitting third in the order for the series opener.

Donaldson (knee) is looking to play Friday for the series opener against the Royals, Gregor Chisholm of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Donaldson stated that he didn't believe this was a serious injury and it stemmed from hitting his knee on the concrete while stretching earlier this week. He has dealt with the swelling in the past couple games before getting scratched from the lineup for Thursday's contest. Donaldson is day-to-day for now, but is basically a 50/50 decision for Friday.

Donaldson has been scratched from the Blue Jays' lineup Thursday with left knee soreness, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.
EDGE Analysis
The last-minute change deprives the Jays of their No. 3 hitter. We'll post changes to the lineup as soon as they're released.

Donaldson went 3-for-5 with a home run, three RBI and two runs in Sunday's win over Seattle.
EDGE Analysis
The Bringer of Rain drove his eighth homer of the season to opposite field in the first inning, giving the Jays all the offense it needed to take down Seattle 4-0. Since returning from a lengthy DL stay, Donaldson has mashed five home runs while putting together a 1.080 OPS in 13 games. He's also tallied nine RBI, six runs and eight walks during that stretch. Needless to say, Donaldson has rounded into form and once again looks like an MVP-caliber player.
