Donaldson went 1-for-4 with a grand slam in Monday's win over the Orioles.
EDGE Analysis
The Blue Jays entered the ninth inning with a 2-1 lead, but Curtis Granderson took a bases-loaded walk and then Donaldson homered to blow the game wide open. Donaldson already has three homers and he's started five of the last six games at third base, so the dead-arm issue seems to be fully behind him. The 32-year-old is looking for his fourth straight 30-plus-homer season.

Donaldson is the starting third baseman for Tuesday's tilt with the White Sox, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.
EDGE Analysis
Donaldson had been limited to DH duties due to a case of dead arm, but it seems like he's feeling well enough to return to the field. He's gotten a hit in his past three contests including a homer in Monday's series opener, so it doesn't seem like the issue is overly problematic. It's still worth monitoring moving forward in case his batting average doesn't improve, though.

The Blue Jays are hopeful that Donaldson (arm) will be back at third base Tuesday against the White Sox, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.
EDGE Analysis
Donaldson visibly struggled to make throws from third base in the season opener against the Yankees and was moved to designated hitter for the remainder of the series. He was reportedly suffering from a dead arm and couldn't throw but was still able to hit. He was able to participate in long toss following Sunday's game and it appears that he won't be off the field much longer. It will be worth monitoring the issue in coming weeks to make sure that it doesn't linger and affect Donaldson's performance at the plate.

Donaldson (dead arm) went 1-for-3 with two walks and two runs scored in Sunday's victory over the Yankees.
EDGE Analysis
In addition to making an impact at the dish during Sunday's victory over the Yankees, Donaldson was able to make progress towards returning to his usual spot at the hot corner. Per Gregor Chisholm of MLB.com, Donaldson participated in long toss and practiced making throws from third base after the game concluded. While he may not return to playing the field for a couple more days, Donaldson should continue receiving plenty of at-bats out of the DH spot.

Donaldson (dead arm) will serve as the Blue Jays' designated hitter for the next few games until his throwing shoulder improves, MLB Network Radio reports.
EDGE Analysis
The good news is that it sounds like Donaldson won't lose out on significant at-bats while he deals with this dead arm phase. Kendrys Morales will lose out on playing time with Donaldson getting starts at DH, while Yangervis Solarte serves as the team's third baseman. Gibbons noted that structurally, everything is fine with Donaldson's arm/shoulder.

Manager John Gibbons said after Thursday's loss that Donaldson is dealing with a 'dead arm,' Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.
EDGE Analysis
Donaldson simply didn't look like himself on several throws across the diamond Thursday. He had already sat out of Toronto's exhibition games in Montreal for maintenance purposes, but it's clear that his arm still isn't 100 percent. Gibbons said that this is a case of dead arm rather than any sort of injury for Donaldson. It'll be worth monitoring whether the Blue Jays opt to deploy him as the designated hitter until his arm is back to full strength.

Donaldson said he'll sit out the Blue Jays' exhibition games in Montreal against the Cardinals on Monday and Tuesday for maintenance purposes, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports. "I wouldn't say I feel amazing right now, because I don't," Donaldson said after playing five innings in the field in Sunday's 7-4 Grapefruit League loss to the Pirates. "But that's getting through some things and hopefully by Opening Day, I'll feel good."
EDGE Analysis
Donaldson noted that he feels in better physical condition this spring than he did at this time last year, but he's still been slowed down a bit by a right shoulder injury, calf cramps and general body soreness in recent weeks. The health issues may have played a role in his struggles during the Grapefruit League; he recorded just four hits -- all singles -- in 27 at-bats. In order to avoid a setback heading into the season, Donaldson will remain in Florida the next two days to get in some reps in a pair of minor-league games rather than playing on the artificial turf at Olympic Stadium. Despite entering Opening Day perhaps at less-than-optimal health, Donaldson still looks like a fairly safe early-round selection coming off three consecutive years of 30-plus home runs.

Donaldson (calf) is in the Blue Jays' lineup for Friday's game against the Phillies.
EDGE Analysis
Donaldson has been out of the lineup since Sunday while dealing with a calf strain. Barring any setbacks, he'll be back in time to be fully prepared for the upcoming season.

Donaldson indicated Thursday his calf is fine and plans to play Friday's spring game against the Phillies, John Lott of The Athletic Toronto reports.
EDGE Analysis
Donaldson exited Saturday's game with calf cramps due to dehydration, but underwent acupuncture earlier this week and feels ready to go. The 32-year-old has 11 spring training at-bats thus far as he has also battled a shoulder injury, but appears otherwise healthy with Opening Day less than two weeks away.

Donaldson has been battling calf cramps due to dehydration, John Lott of The Athletic Toronto reports.
EDGE Analysis
Donaldson's injury wasn't thought to be serious, but it's reassuring for that belief to be confirmed. Even though the team won't rush him back, there's no reason to think that the 32-year-old won't be ready to go when Opening Day arrives.
