With the second half of baseball now in full swing, teams are doing their best to make a late season playoff push. As the trade deadline approaches, teams around the league will drastically change as they do their best to try and win the World Series. As the MLB landscape changes, so will Fantasy Baseball. With multiple injuries, trades and overall depth chart transactions, different players will become viable in fantasy leagues. One of the hardest positions to manage is catcher. With only li[...]

Josh Bell Gets Four Hits Saturday rotoballer.com Sat 7/21/18 6:23 PM

Pittsburgh Pirates first baseman Josh Bell went 4-for-4 with a RBI and a run on Saturday. The Cincinnati Reds pitchers just seemed to struggle to get the big Texan out every time he was at the plate; he had three singles and a  double in the game. Bell is hitting .267 with five homers and 47 RBI this season. He is a fantasy option in deeper leagues and NL-only formats. Bell and the Pirates will take on Matt Harvey in the finally on Sunday. Bell is batting.400 against Harvey in his career.

Josh Bell With Two RBI In Sunday Sweep rotoballer.com Sun 7/15/18 8:09 PM

Pittsburgh Pirates first baseman Josh Bell hit a walk-off two RBI double to complete the five game sweep of the Milwaukee Brewers on Sunday! His second hit of the game came in the poring rain against left-hander Dan Jennings. In the past two weeks, Bell is hitting .326 with five RBI and eight walks. The Bucs, big first baseman is hitting .261 on the year and that only makes him a decent backup in fantasy.

Josh Bell Reaches Base Four Times Friday rotoballer.com Fri 7/13/18 6:10 PM

Pittsburgh Pirates first baseman Josh Bell had a terrific night Friday against the Milwaukee Brewers. He went 4-for-4 with a triple and two RBI. He was a homer short of hitting for the cycle. Bell is carrying a .736 OPS with five homers and 44 RBI. Would like to see more power from the big first baseman, and that is why he is the 22nd ranked player in points league at his position. He could be a good bench player to slot in on offdays for your typical starter.

Josh Bell Sits on Monday rotoballer.com Mon 7/9/18 11:33 AM

Pittsburgh Pirates first baseman Josh Bell will sit on Monday and is out of the team's lineup. It's just a routine day of rest and he'll be back for his team's next game. David Freese will replace him at first and bat sixth. Freese is hitting .261 with five home runs and 23 RBI in 2018. He's a decent streamer on Monday but with Colin Moran and Bell usually starting at the infield corners, he isn't worth a pickup.

Josh Bell Will Leadoff Tonight rotoballer.com Fri 7/6/18 1:17 PM

Pittsburgh Pirates first baseman Josh Bell will bat leadoff tonight against the Phillies. According to Bill Brink, "Bell has led off one game before in his major league career: Sept. 30, 2016 against the Cardinals." He will face right-handed pitcher Nick Pivetta. Bell has never faced Pivetta, and has a .244 batting average with 43 strikeouts in 221 at-bats against righties. The numbers tell me to sit Bell, and the lead off position tells me he probably won't have the opportunity to knock in ru[...]

Josh Bell Back In Lineup Tuesday rotoballer.com Tue 7/3/18 3:09 PM

Pittsburgh Pirates first baseman Josh Bell is back in the starting lineup Tuesday against Clayton Kershaw. In the past week, Bell has an .888 OPS with six hits and three walks. He is a better hitter against left-handed pitchers in his career than righties with an .801 OPS against southpaws versus a .723 OPS against righties. There is a 50-50 chance you could snag Bell in your fantasy leagues if you need a spot start or first base help. However, he's not a recommended play on Tuesday against Kers[...]

Josh Bell is Out on Monday rotoballer.com Mon 7/2/18 2:33 PM

Pittsburgh Pirates first baseman Josh Bell (rest) is not in the starting lineup for Monday's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers. David Freese will bat sixth and play first base against lefty Alex Wood. Bell does not hit quite as well against left-handed pitching, so the Pirates will go with David Freese at first for Monday's contest. Bell should be owned in 14-team leagues at the minimum.

Josh Bell And Colin Moran Not In Lineup Tuesday rotoballer.com Tue 6/26/18 10:54 AM

Pittsburgh Pirates first baseman Josh Bell and third baseman Colin Moran are both out of the lineup for Tuesday's matchup against the Mets. There has been no mention of injuries to either, so it looks like just a day of rest for both players. Bell, who hit his first homer in two months, will be replaced by Jose Osuna. Osuna has nine career homers and 36 RBI in 123 big league games but is a high prospect in the Pirates organization. Moran will be substituted for David Freese. Freese has an on-bas[...]

Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Gregory Polanco and first baseman Josh Bell both homered in their game Monday in New York. Polanco hammered a full-count pitch to center field, his 10th of the season. Bell would smash a two-run homer four innings later in the sixth. It was Bell's first home run since May 31, and only his fifth of the year. Bell said "You've got to put a foot down somewhere and hopefully that was a turning point tonight for us."
