Loaisiga (3-0) allowed one run (zero earned) on one hit and one walk along with a punchout across two innings Friday as he picked up the win over the Red Sox.
EDGE Analysis
Loaisiga entered in the 11th and instantly ran into trouble as he allowed Michael Chavis to advance to third on a wild pitch before he came in to score on a Christian Arroyo single. Loaisiga soon found himself in a bases-loaded jam with one out but was able to pitch himself out of it by striking out J.D. Martinez and getting Christian Vazquez to fly out. He came back out for the 12th after the Yankees were able to retake the lead in the top half of the inning and sent the Red Sox hitters down in order to pick up his third win of 2020. Loaisiga owns a 2.70 ERA and 21:5 K:BB across 20 innings, and he should see more work down the stretch while the Yankees push for a playoff spot.

Loaisiga (undisclosed) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Loaisiga had a minimum stay on the injured list after being sidelined in early September for an undisclosed reason. He'll be available out of the bullpen going forward as the Yankees prepare for a likely playoff run. The right-hander last pitched Sept. 1, and he had a 3.18 ERA and 1.06 WHIP over 17 innings prior to his absence.

Loaisiga is set to be activated off the injured list Tuesday, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The reason for Loaisiga's stint on the IL has not been revealed, but it appears to be resolved as the right-hander is expected to return to the active roster Tuesday. Loaisiga last pitched Sept. 1, so he may have some rust upon returning to the mound. The 25-year-old has compiled a 3.18 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 20:4 K:BB over 17 innings this season.

Loaisiga (undisclosed) threw a bullpen session Friday and is on track to be activated Tuesday, Max Goodman of Sports Illustrated reports.
EDGE Analysis
The nature of Loaisiga's issue has not been disclosed, though manager Aaron Boone has clarified that it is not related to COVID-19. Assuming Loasiga's bullpen went well Friday, he'll toss another Sunday and could then be activated off the injured list before the team's critical three-game series against Toronto that begins Tuesday.

Loaisiga was Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com retroactive to Wednesday for undisclosed reasons.
EDGE Analysis
The Yankees' vague language -- their announcement referred to the issue as "a medical condition that prevents him from playing and necessitates placement on the IL" -- makes this sound like a COVID-19 situation, though Lindsey Adler of The Athletic reports that isn't the case. Loaisiga will be eligible to return from the injured list next Saturday, though the lack of clarity surrounding the issue makes it difficult to predict whether or not he'll be able to do so. Miguel Yajure was recalled to take his place in the bullpen.

Loaisiga allowed one run on three hits and no walks while striking out three over three innings in Friday's Game 2 loss against the Mets. He didn't factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Loaisiga was effective over the first three innings of Friday's contest, but he settled for a no-decision after the Mets hit a walkoff home run. The right-hander has a 2.81 ERA and 18:4 K:BB over 16 innings this season. He'll likely work out of the bullpen in the near future.

Loaisiga will start the second game of Friday's doubleheader against the Mets, Lindsey Adler of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Mets had a late-game rally in the first game of Friday's twin bill, and Loaisiga will attempt to quiet their bats to begin Game 2. Loaisiga has made six appearances (two starts) this season and carries a 2.77 ERA and 1.08 WHIP over 13 innings.

Loaisiga was one of three pitchers mentioned by Yankees manager Aaron Boone on Saturday as candidates to replace James Paxton (forearm) in the rotation, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Paxton hit the injured list Friday and is expected to miss at least two weeks, so the team will need to select a replacement when his spot in the rotation comes back up. The decision may not be made for some time with the Yankees' weekend series against the Mets cancelled due to coronavirus concerns, but Loaisiga was named as an early candidate for the role along with Michael King and Nick Nelson. Loaisiga has some experience as a starter -- he has opened in 10 of his 30 big-league appearances -- though he has not exceeded four innings in any outing since 2018.

Loaisiga (2-0) pitched two scoreless innings, allowing three hits and striking out three to earn the win Wednesday versus Atlanta.
EDGE Analysis
Loaisiga relieved Masahiro Tanaka after four innings, and that was enough for the former to earn the win in a relief appearance. The 25-year-old Loaisiga has pitched to a 3.48 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 13:4 K:BB in 10.1 innings across four outings this year. He's typically deployed in a long-relief role.

Loaisiga allowed one earned run on three hits and a walk while striking out three across 2.1 innings in the second game of the Yankees' doubleheader against the Phillies on Thursday. He did not factor into the decision.
EDGE Analysis
Loaisiga was used a starter given the doubleheader, though the team still limited his workload to 51 pitches. The lone run he surrendered came in the second inning, when he allowed an RBI-single to Andrew Knapp. Loaisiga will likely return to a multi-inning reliever role.
