Berti will start at shortstop and bat leadoff in Sunday's game against the Cubs, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Though he's returning to the lineup as the Marlins' table setter against a left-hander (Justin Steele), Berti may be on the outs for a regular role against right-handed pitching. He's hit the bench in two of the last three occasions that the Marlins have faced right-handed starters, with Garrett Hampson getting the nod at shortstop instead. However, both Hampson and Berti may see their opportunities versus righties dwindle whenever Joey Wendle (intercostal) is cleared to return from the 10-day injured list.

Berti is not in the lineup Saturday against the Cubs, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
Garrett Hampson will start at shortstop and bat ninth versus the Cubs and right-hander Caleb Kilian. Berti is sitting on a .228/.279/.354 slash line with two home runs and four stolen bases through 26 games this season with the Marlins.

Berti went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 7-4 loss to Cleveland.
EDGE Analysis
Berti opened the scoring Sunday, smacking an opposite-field homer off Logan Allen to give Miami an early lead. It's Berti's second long ball of the year after he hit four in 358 at-bats last season. The reigning stolen-base champ is slashing .224/.264/.358 with seven RBI, nine runs scored and four steals. While Berti shouldn't be relied on as a reliable power source, he'll likely wind up near the top of the league in stolen bases again.

Berti is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Giants, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Berti has been the Marlins' everyday shortstop since Joey Wendle (intercostal) landed on the 10-day injured list, but he'll get a day off Monday. Garrett Hampson will draw the start at shortstop in the series opener.

Berti went 2-for-4 with a double, a run scored, two RBI and a stolen base in Friday's 5-1 win over the Diamondbacks.
EDGE Analysis
Moved up to the leadoff spot for the first time this season, Berti swiped his fourth bag of the year, with all four coming in the last five games. As he did in 2022, the 33-year-old is making an impact in a hurry on the basepaths with consistent playing time, and since Joey Wendle (ribs) was injured, Berti's gone 9-for-31 (.290) with a home run, four RBI and six runs in nine games.

Berti went 0-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base in Wednesday's extra-inning win over the Phillies.
EDGE Analysis
The 33-utility player didn't steal a base in his first eight games of the season, but Berti has now gone 3-for-3 on the basepaths in the last four contests. His .231 batting average (9-for-39) isn't impressive and he has only one homer, two RBI and five runs in 12 games, but he can make a big impact in stolen bases for fantasy GMs that can afford to roster a fairly one-dimensional player.

Berti went 2-for-3 with a walk, a home run, two runs scored, two RBI and a stolen base in Tuesday's 8-4 win over the Phillies.
EDGE Analysis
The utility player opened the scoring in the third inning by turning on an Aaron Nola knuckle curve and driving it over the wall in center field. Berti isn't known for his power -- his career high in homers is six, set back in 2019 -- but after stealing a league-leading 41 bases last season, he's now swiped two in the last three games. As long as he continues getting everyday playing time at shortstop, the 33-year-old could rack up pilfers in a hurry.

Berti went 1-for-4 with a run scored and a stolen base in Sunday's win over the Mets.
EDGE Analysis
Getting the start at shortstop and hitting ninth, Berti swiped his first bag of the year after a one-out single in the fifth inning. Last year's steals king has had a slow start to 2023 in that category, but with consistent playing time ahead of him while Joey Wendle (ribs) is sidelined, Berti could rack up a lot of stolen bases very quickly.

Berti is expected to see the majority of the playing time at shortstop while Joey Wendle (ribs) is on the injured list, David Wilson of the Miami Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
Berti is a poor fit defensively at shortstop, but the veteran utility player is still viewed as the superior option to Garrett Hampson. The Marlins also have Jose Iglesias at Triple-A, but he's not on the 40-man roster and the organization may not have an easy way to create a spot for him at the moment. Berti has had a quiet start to the year, going 3-for-15 (.200) through five games without a stolen base, but his wheels should start making an impact with consistent playing time.

Berti is starting at shortstop and batting ninth Tuesday against the Twins.
EDGE Analysis
Berti is getting his second straight start at the position while Joey Wendle battles an intercostal strain that resulted in him being placed on the 10-day injured list. With his great speed, Berti should see a significant boost in fantasy value now that he appears set to play regularly in the middle infield. He racked up a major-league-best 41 steals in 102 games last season.
