Lackey picked up his fifth win Monday against Minnesota as he allowed just two runs on five hits and a walk over eight innings.
It was Lackey's longest start of the season, and he had only made it into the eighth once before (May 7 against the Cubs). Other than a disaster last week in Colorado, Lackey has allowed more than three runs in a game just once this year, and he should remain a steady, solid option out of the Cardinals rotation.

Lackey will not make his regularly scheduled start Sunday as the game has been postponed due to weather, Andy McCullough of the Kansas City Star reports.
After repeated weather delays, the Cardinals finally decided to pull the plug on the afternoon contest, with no makeup date having been scheduled. Lackey, along with Kansas City starter Chris Young, will likely have their next start pushed back to Monday, but nothing official has surfaced just yet.

Lackey allowed 10 runs (eight earned) on 12 hits over four innings Monday against Colorado.
Lackey took a Coors Field beating, as he served up two home runs as part of the barrage. Still, he struck out five and walked none and owns a 3.74 ERA. He'll return home to face Kansas City on Sunday.

Lackey gave up three runs and scattered 10 hits over seven innings while striking out five and walking one in a winning effort against the Brewers on Wednesday afternoon.
He was hardly dominant, as the Brewers threatened to hang a crooked number on a few occasions, but Lackey worked his way out of the jams as needed to earn his fourth victory of the season. With a 5.4% HR/FB this season (career 9.5%, 11.7% in 2014), Lackey's 2.93 ERA is somewhat unsustainable, but good control has helped his cause thus far in season where his strikeout rate has tumbled (6.6 K/9) through 11 starts. He'll face the Rockies at Coors Field on Monday in the first nod of a two-start week.

Lackey (3-3) was fantastic Friday, going seven shutout innings while allowing just five hits and striking out nine in a 3-0 win against the Dodgers.
Lackey's fine season continues, as he posted his second-highest strikeout total of the year Friday night. Considering that Lackey was a late-round pick in most fantasy leagues, he's far exceeded his value on draft day and has become a must-own pitcher in most formats. He's now allowed three or fewer runs in seven straight outings, and he'll look to keep that streak going against Milwaukee on Wednesday.

Lackey gave up three runs on six hits over five innings while striking out two and walking a pair in a loss to the Royals on Saturday night.
The game was called after the top of the sixth inning due to rain, which prevented Lackey from getting deeper into the start as he had only through 68 pitches through five frames. He'll face the Dodgers in a home start Friday his next time out.

Lackey was strong in a no-decision Monday, going seven innings and allowing only one run against the Mets.
Lackey struck out six while walking none and allowing just three hits. The veteran has been on a roll this month, allowing just five runs in 26 May innings. He'll look to continue his strong pitching when he takes the bump this weekend against the Royals.

Lackey (2-2) walked five and allowed five hits over 5.2 innings Wednesday in Cleveland, but limited the damage to just two runs, though he still took the loss.
Lackey was on the other end of Corey Kluber's 18-strikeout masterpiece, making his inefficient outing -- 105 pitches for 16 outs -- look particularly pathetic. The veteran righty doesn't usually have control problems like this, though, and he's been surprisingly solid in the early going, although an inflated xFIP (4.33) isn't terribly promising. All in all, fantasy owners would be wise to consider Lackey unchanged from the mediocre pitcher he's been for the last few years. He'll next draw the Mets at Citi Field on Monday.

Lackey (2-1) dominated the Cubs over 7.2 innings Thursday, striking out 10 while allowing just one run on five hits and a walk.
It's been a funny start to the year for Lackey -- he struck out eight Brewers on April 16, but a total of only 10 hitters in his other four starts combined. Lackey's been fairly effective so far, carving out surprising fantasy value, but with his general lack of strikeouts, it's wise to expect his ERA to inflate from its current 3.20 figure.

Lackey supplied a quality start on Saturday, allowing just one run on six hits and three walks through six innings, striking out four.
It took the Cards 11 innings to get the victory, denying Lackey a decision, but otherwise it was a strong effort from the veteran hurler. His 18:8 K:BB ratio in 31.2 innings isn't impressive, but he has wrestled his ERA down to a semi-respectable 3.69. He's schedule to face Jake Arreita and the Cubs at home next week as Lackey looks for his second win of the season.
