Wendle went 1-for-2 with a double, two walks, two stolen bases and a run in a win over the Orioles on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Wendle's final line had to have fantasy managers wistfully reminiscing about last season, as the versatile infielder put on a performance worthy of his breakout 2018. Those have been very few and far between for Wendle thus far in an injury-shortened season, most clearly evidenced by his .184/.276/.237 line through 87 plate appearances. Obscured in those abysmal numbers is the fact Wendle seems to be breaking out of his early skid, however -- factoring in Tuesday's performance, he's hitting .333 (10-for-30) with three doubles, two RBI, three walks, three stolen bases and four runs over his last nine games.

Wendle is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Orioles, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
The utility man had started each of the Rays' three games versus Texas over the weekend, going 2-for-8 at the plate with two RBI. Wendle, who is hitting just .192 since returning from the injured list in mid-June, doesn't have a clear path to an everyday role now that Yandy Diaz is healthy again.

Wendle is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Twins, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The lefty-hitting Wendle's absence from the starting nine doesn't come as a surprise with southpaw Martin Perez on the bump for Minnesota, but the 29-year-old looks on track to find himself on the bench more frequently versus right-handers, too. The Rays welcomed Yandy Diaz (hamstring) back from the 10-day injured list Thursday, and it's expected that he'll be a fixture at third base on a full-time basis. Wendle is hitting just .175 over 12 games since returning from his own IL stint two weeks ago, which doesn't help his case for seeing steady action now that the Rays are at relatively close to full strength in the infield.

Wendle went 3-for-5 with a run scored in Sunday's 8-2 win over Oakland.
EDGE Analysis
It looks like Wendle is finally getting settled in, going 5-for-9 over the last two games. Prior to that, he was just 4-for-46 (.087) to start the year while battling a couple of trips to the injured list.

Wendle went 2-for-4 in a loss to the Athletics on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Wendle had been mired in a slump of epic proportions prior to Saturday, as he'd gone 1-for-24 since returning from an extended stay on the injured list. The versatile infielder, known for his solid work at the plate in a professional career that dates back to 2012, seems to clearly have been hampered by the considerable disruption to his timing at the plate his wrist injury brought about. Wendle's prior body of work suggests that significant improvement on his current .120/.200/.140 line is forthcoming as the season unfolds.

Wendle is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Yankees, Josh Tolentino of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wendle has managed only one hit in 17 at-bats in his first five games back from the 10-day injured list, but he should continue to benefit from at least semi-regular action after the Rays moved corner infielder Yandy Diaz (hamstring) to the IL on Wednesday. The Rays may continue to confine the lefty-swinging Wendle to the bench versus southpaws, however, as will be the case in the series finale with CC Sabathia on the hill for New York.

Wendle, who went 0-for-3 in a loss to the Yankees on Monday, is 1-for-16 overall since returning from a stint on the injured list due to a wrist injury.
EDGE Analysis
Wendle missed all but four games between April 1 and June 13 with hamstring and wrist issues, and he clearly is struggling to regain his timing against big-league arms. The versatile infielder is slashing an abysmal .111/.179/.139 over a modest 39 plate-appearance sample this season, but given his .300/.354/.435 line across 139 games in 2018, Wendle clearly has the ability to snap out of his current doldrums.

Wendle (wrist) is starting at second base and batting seventh in his return from the 10-day injured list Friday versus the Angels, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wendle has been on the IL since late April due to the fractured right wrist but makes his return to action after a four-game minor-league rehab stint in which he went 7-for-15. The 29-year-old will hope to carry over that success after struggling through the first month of the season with a .136/.240/.182 slash line in 25 at-bats prior to the injury.
