Gallo (side) is not in the lineup for Saturday's game versus the Astros.
EDGE Analysis
The 29-year-old was removed from Friday's series opener with right side soreness and will be out of the starting nine for at least one game. Manager Rocco Baldelli said Gallo's medicial imaging produced "good news," and the outfielder should be considered day-to-day, per Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com. Trevor Larnach and Nick Gordon will start in the corner outfield Saturday, with Max Kepler (knee) also out.

Twins manager Rocco Baldelli told reporters that Gallo has been dealing with soreness in his right side for a few days, and he'll undergo imaging before Saturday's game against the Astros, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gallo was removed for Nick Gordon during Friday's extra-innings win because of the soreness. The Twins should know more about the extent of the injury after the results of the injury are available. A trip to the injured list can't be ruled out, but for now Gallo should be considered day-to-day.

Gallo exited Friday's game against the Astros with right side soreness, Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gallo was replaced by Nick Gordon in the bottom of the sixth. The outfielder should be considered day-to-day for now, but may need to undergo imaging to determine the severity of the injury. Gallo has gotten off to a strong start with three homers over the first seven games of the season.

Gallo is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Marlins, Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gallo is one of three lefty-hitting lineup regulars who will take a seat Wednesday versus Miami southpaw Jesus Luzardo, with Nick Gordon and Max Kepler (knee) joining him on the bench. Donovan Solano will get the start at first base in Gallo's stead.

Gallo went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run in Monday's 11-1 rout of the Marlins.
EDGE Analysis
Gallo staked Minnesota to a four-run lead with his second-inning blast, and the team never looked back in improving to 4-0 on the campaign. The veteran slugger has blasted three long balls over his past two games, racking up seven RBI over that span. Gallo is highly unlikely to finish the season with anything close to his .308 average (he hasn't hit above .200 since 2019), but he appears to have a near-everyday role with the Twins and could be a solid source of power for fantasy managers willing to accept his tendency to rack up strikeouts.

Gallo went 3-for-4 with two home runs, a double, a walk, four RBI and three runs scored in Sunday's win over the Royals.
EDGE Analysis
Gallo went 0-for-6 with four strikeouts across the first two games of the season, but he erupted during Sunday's series finale to help complete Minnesota's three-game sweep. That start to the campaign perfectly encapsulates the 29-year-old's boom-or-bust potential, though a couple of early homers are certainly an encouraging sign for fantasy managers.

Gallo started at first base and went 0-for-2 in Thursday's season opening win at Kansas City. He was lifted for pinch hitter Donovan Solano in the sixth inning.
EDGE Analysis
Gallo extended his hitless streak against starter Zack Greinke to 0-for-19 but contributed a nice defensive play by throwing out a runner at home. Gallo looks set to be the primary first baseman with Alex Kirilloff on the injured list. However, his substitution for a right-handed hitter shows his playing time will be in flux based on matchups.

Gallo started at first base and went 1-for-3 with a double in Monday's spring training win over the Yankees. He's hitting .316 (6-for-19) with a home run this spring.
EDGE Analysis
Gallo could get playing time at first base this year, especially early in the season with Alex Kirilloff (wrist) questionable for the start of the season. He'll likely get most of his playing time in left field as he looks to rebound from a disappointing season. He hit just .160/.280/.357 with 19 home runs last season with nearly a 40 percent strikeout rate across 126 games for the Yankees and Dodgers.

Gallo signed a one-year, $11 million contract with the Twins on Friday, Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gallo's 2022 was a disaster, as he put up a .160/.280/.357 slash line with 19 home runs and a nearly 40 percent strikeout rate across 126 games for the Yankees and Dodgers. He was one of the most prolific home run hitters in the game for the five seasons prior to that, however, and also offers good defense in the outfield. The Twins are taking a modest gamble on a bounce-back and no doubt are hoping Gallo will be aided by the new rules banning defensive shifts.

Gallo went 2-for-3 with a home run, a walk, two total runs and two total RBI in Monday's 5-2 victory versus the Diamondbacks.
EDGE Analysis
Gallo got the Dodgers off to a good start with a 437-foot solo moonshot to right field in the second inning, and he added a run-scoring single in the fourth. It was the first multi-hit performance for the slugger since Aug. 21. Gallo is slashing a paltry .190/.261/.452 in September, but he's hit three homers and driven in 11 runs over 14 games.
