Estes (7-7) allowed three runs (two earned) on seven hits and a walk while striking out two over 6.2 innings to earn the win over the Astros on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Estes logged his third quality start in his last five outings and avoided giving up a home run for the first time since July 26. The right-hander hasn't allowed more than four runs in any of his last 11 appearances. He's pitched to a 4.36 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 88:24 K:BB over 117.2 innings through 22 outings (21 starts) this season. Estes is projected to make his next start on the road versus the Cubs.

Estes (6-7) allowed four runs on six hits and struck out three without walking a batter over four innings, taking the loss Thursday versus the Mariners.
EDGE Analysis
Estes coughed up a pair of homers to Cal Raleigh and Julio Rodriguez, making it the fifth time this season he's allowed multiple long balls in a start. Ester has now given up at least one home run in seven straight starts, but he has pitched well over that span. Thursday's start ended an impressive run of nine straight outings in which he didn't allow more than three runs. The 22-year-old has a 4.46 ERA through 111 innings in his rookie campaign.

Estes came away with a no-decision in Saturday's 3-2 loss to the Rangers, giving up two runs on six hits over six innings. He struck out seven without walking a batter.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander was stingy once again as he produced his seventh quality start of the year, although he left the mound with the score tied 2-2 in a game during which the A's never held the lead. Estes has allowed two runs or less in eight of his last nine starts, a stretch in which he's posted a 2.88 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 39:9 K:BB over 50 innings. He'll look to keep rolling in his next outing, which lines up to come at home next week against the Mariners.

Estes (6-6) earned the win Sunday, allowing two runs on two hits and one walk over 5.2 innings against the Brewers. He struck out five.
EDGE Analysis
Estes allowed a two-run homer by Gary Sanchez in the second inning but otherwise held the Brewers off the board to collect his sixth win of the season. After receiving a cup of coffee with the A's last season, Estes has been solid in his first full big-league season, carrying a 4.37 ERA and a 1.12 WHIP. Additionally, since allowing eight runs in a start against the Red Sox on July 9, he's been highly impressive, allowing no more than three runs in any of his last eight appearances while maintaining a 2.86 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 32 strikeouts over his last 44 innings. He'll look to continue this string of success in his next start, scheduled to take place in Arlington against the Rangers.

Estes (5-6) allowed one run on three hits and a walk while striking out five over 7.2 innings, taking the loss versus the Rays on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
It was a stellar pitching duel between Estes and Shane Baz, but Estes blinked first when he gave up a solo home run to Jose Siri in the eighth inning for the lone run of the game. This is the third time in 18 appearances (17 starts) that Estes has gone at least seven innings. He also hasn't allowed more than three runs in any of his last seven appearances. The right-hander is at a 4.44 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 71:22 K:BB through 95.1 innings on the year. Estes is projected to make his next start at home versus the NL Central-leading Brewers.

Estes (5-5) allowed three runs on seven hits and struck out three without walking a batter over 5.1 innings, taking the loss Wednesday versus the Mets.
EDGE Analysis
Estes mostly kept the Mets in check, though he yielded solo home runs to Francisco Lindor and Pete Alonso. This was the first time since June 16 that Estes yielded multiple homers in an outing. The right-hander is now at a 4.72 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 66:21 K:BB through 87.2 innings over 17 appearances (16 starts). He's projected to make his next start at home versus the Rays.

Estes did not factor into the decision in Wednesday's win against the White Sox, allowing two earned runs on six hits and zero walks while striking out four in five innings.
EDGE Analysis
Both earned runs came on a two-run blast by Andrew Benintendi in the second inning. Although he yielded three extra-base hits and needed 96 pitches to get through five innings, Estes has pitched well of late. The 22-year-old rookie has allowed two earned runs or fewer in each of his past five appearances (four starts), pitching to a 2.84 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 19:7 K:BB in 25.1 innings during that stretch. Estes will look to keep things rolling in his next start, currently scheduled for next week against the Mets.

Estes (5-4) allowed two runs on two hits and two walks while striking out six over six innings to earn the win over the Dodgers on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Estes was shaky early, allowing a two-run home run to Teoscar Hernandez, but he quickly settled in. The right-hander recorded 15 straight outs before walking two with two outs in the sixth inning, only to get a strikeout to avoid trouble. Estes has allowed two earned runs or less in each of his last four outings (three starts), covering 20.1 innings in that span. For the season, he has a 4.77 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 59:21 K:BB over 77.1 innings across 15 appearances (14 starts). The 22-year-old's next outing is projected to be a favorable home matchup against the White Sox.

Estes is scheduled to start Friday's game against the Dodgers in Oakland.
EDGE Analysis
Estes had started in each of his first 13 appearances with the Athletics this season before he was deployed for 2.2 innings of relief this past Friday against the Angels behind starter Paul Blackburn, who was lifted after five innings in his first outing back from the 60-day injured list. The Athletics traded Blackburn to the Mets on Tuesday, so Estes' brief run in the bullpen will come to an end as he reclaims the vacated rotation spot.

Estes came on in relief in Friday's 5-4 win over the Angels, collecting a hold while allowing two hits and two walks over 2.2 scoreless innings. He didn't strike out a batter.
EDGE Analysis
After making each of his previous 13 appearances with the Athletics this season as a starter, Estes worked out of the bullpen for the first time with Oakland bringing Paul Blackburn (foot) back from the injured list Friday. Since Blackburn was making his first start with the big club in more than two months, he was limited to five innings and 72 pitches in his return, prompting the Athletics to turn to Estes in relief on his normal four days' rest. The Athletics cleared up their logjam in the rotation to some degree by optioning Hogan Harris to Triple-A Las Vegas on Friday, but Estes could still end up sticking in the bullpen if Oakland elects to proceed with Osvaldo Bido as its fifth starter.
