Cantillo (hamstring) will make a start in the Arizona Complex League on Thursday
EDGE Analysis
Cantillo sustained a strained hamstring toward the end of spring training and was given an 8-to-10-week timetable for return. He seems to be on track with his rehab considering Thursday's start comes around the eight-week mark. A top pitching prospect in the Guardians system, Cantillo got his first taste of Triple-A action last season, logging a 4.64 ERA across 95.0 innings on 18 starts.

Cantillo will be out for 8-to-10 weeks due to a left hamstring strain he sustained at the end of spring training, Mandy Bell of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Cantillo gave up four runs on three hits and four walks while striking out five over seven innings in spring training, and the Guardians optioned the left-hander to Triple-A Columbus on March 12. The hamstring strain occurred at the end of spring training, and will result in Cantillo missing at least the first two months of the minor-league season.

The Guardians optioned Cantillo to Triple-A Columbus on Tuesday, Mandy Bell of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Cantillo will be rotation insurance for the Guardians at Columbus to start the season. The left-hander has missed plenty of bats int the minors but needs to get his control in order before being considered for a big-league promotion.

Cantillo allowed a run on a hit and a walk over two innings in Wednesday's Cactus League start versus the Diamondbacks.
EDGE Analysis
Cantillo pitched a clean first inning, but a walk, two wild pitches and a double led to Arizona's first run in the second. It's encouraging to see Cantillo work as a starter this spring, but with just over half a season of experience at the Triple-A level (4.64 ERA, 1.52 WHIP, 111:55 K:BB), it's fairly likely the 24-year-old will need more time with Columbus this season. Logan Allen (shoulder) has yet to make his spring debut, but the Guardians have veteran Carlos Carrasco in camp as an NRI, so Cantillo doesn't have a clear path to the No. 5 spot in the rotation.

The Guardians promoted Cantillo from Double-A Akron to Triple-A Columbus on Wednesday, Zack Meisel of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Cantillo has been electric with Akron so far this season, posting a 1.85 ERA and 1.16 WHIP with 35 punchouts over 24.1 innings . The left-hander will now move one step closer to the big leagues and look to remain just as effective at the next level.

Cantillo was optioned Sunday to Triple-A Columbus by the Guardians, Mandy Bell of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Cantillo was limited to only 60.2 innings of work in 2022 because of soreness in his left shoulder, but he was effective in those innings with a 1.93 ERA for Double-A Akron over 14 appearances -- 13 of those starts. The southpaw will open the year in the Columbus rotation in Triple-A, but there's certainly a chance he could finish the year with Cleveland if he's even close to as successful as he was in 2022.

Cantillo (shoulder) completed a throwing session last week on the back fields at the Guardians' minor-league camp, SI.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Cantillo was added to the Guardians' 40-man roster over the winter and is attending big-league camp, but he has yet to make his Cactus League debut. His absence from Cleveland's spring pitching schedule is likely more of a reflection of the fact that he's not a serious candidate to make the Opening Day roster, as the 23-year-old lefty looks to be healthy again after shoulder soreness sidelined him for the final two months of the minor-league season. Cantillo submitted a 1.93 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 87:28 K:BB in 60.2 innings for Double-A Akron before succumbing to the shoulder injury.

Cantillo (shoulder) was added to the Guardians' 40-man roster Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Cantillo had a 1.93 ERA through 14 outings with Double-A Akron last season but missed the final two months of the campaign with shoulder soreness. The injury won't prevent him from being added to the 40-man roster as Cleveland protects him from the Rule 5 draft.

Cantillo (shoulder) was placed on the injured list at Double-A Akron this week.
EDGE Analysis
Cantillo threw three scoreless innings versus Harrisburg on July 30, but he's since been diagnosed with left shoulder soreness. The southpaw has impressed at the Double-A level with a 1.93 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 87:28 K:BB across 14 appearances (13 starts), though his 4.2 BB/9 leaves some room for improvement. It's unclear when he'll be ready to return.

Double-A Akron reinstated Cantillo (abdomen) from its 7-day injured list Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Cantillo finally looks ready to make his Double-A debut after he was initially placed on Akron's IL in early May with right abdominal soreness. He was cleared to rejoin Akron after he completed a two-start rehab assignment in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League, during which he struck out seven over five scoreless frames. The 21-year-old lefty was one of several players that Cleveland acquired in the August 2020 deal that sent Mike Clevinger to San Diego.
