Bart is opening the year with High-A San Jose, Jim Callis of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The No. 2 overall pick in last year's draft demolished short-season pitching after signing, but this will be a much fairer test for the 22-year-old backstop. He will probably rake again in the California League, and his defense is good enough that it won't slow his ascent up the minor-league ranks.

Bart was reassigned to minor-league camp Friday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bart left quite an impression during his first major-league spring training as he slashed .350/.381/.600 with two doubles and a home run in 20 at-bats. The 22-year-old spent the bulk of 2018 at Low-A Salem-Keizer and posted a .983 OPS, and is ticketed to begin the 2019 season at High-A San Jose.

EDGE Analysis
Bart notched his second double of the spring in the ninth inning with the bases loaded, scoring three runs and giving his club a 4-1 lead. The 22-year-old prospect has been impressive at the dish in big-league camp and is now 7-for-14 with a home run, six RBI and two runs scored.

Bart started at catcher and went 3-for-5 with a pair of home runs and four RBI for short-season Salem-Keizer in its 15-1 win Wednesday over Hillsboro.
EDGE Analysis
Making his Northwest League debut, Bart didn't take long to get comfortable with his new squad. Bart, who batted .261/.320/.391 in six games with the Giants' rookie-level Arizona League affiliate before getting the call to short-season ball, isn't expected to face much of a challenge from opposing pitchers until he heads to a full-season affiliate. The 21-year-old possesses plus raw power and should be a capable home-run producer from the catcher spot once he reaches the big leagues, but he's unlikely to be much more than a neutral asset in batting average.
