Ross left Sunday's start in the fourth inning with an apparent arm injury. His fastball was clocking in at 86-87 mph before his exit, Dan Kolko of MASN Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
As Mark Zuckerman of MASNsports.com reports, this is not the first time this season that Ross' fastball velocity has dipped into the 80s, as it happened in April and he was able to get it back. Still, it's hard not to fear the worst, given his previous injury history and his brother Tyson's injury history. Ross used to sit in the mid-90s, and has been working most of this year at 91-93 mph. He gave up three runs on three hits and two walks with three strikeouts in 3.1 innings against the Braves before exiting.

Ross (5-3) held the Mets to a pair of runs on eight hits and three walks while striking out six over seven innings in Tuesday's win.
EDGE Analysis
He allowed too many baserunners in this one, and yet both Mets runs came on solo homers, including Jose Reyes' leadoff shot in the first inning. Ross has had difficulty with the long ball this year, surrendering 17 of them in his 70.1 innings across 12 starts, and that -- along with a .333 BABIP -- has made him an inconsistent fantasy commodity. His 4.86 ERA and 1.46 WHIP aren't impressing anyone, but Ross has allowed only seven earned runs over his last four starts, accumulating a 2.36 ERA in that span, so he's showing some positive signs. The 24-year-old is next slated to start Sunday in the Nationals' final game before the All-Star break.

Ross took the no-decision Thursday against the Cubs. He allowed two earned runs over 6.2 innings while fanning seven batters and issuing three walks.
EDGE Analysis
Although the Nationals couldn't hold on to preserve the win for Ross on Thursday, it was still another strong outing from the 24-year-old. He crossed the 6.0-inning threshold for the fourth time in his last five outings as he continues to put his rough start to the season farther and farther in the rear view mirror. If the Nationals stick to their current rotation, Ross is in line to make two more starts before the break, with the first of those outings coming Tuesday against the Mets.

Ross (4-3) allowed one run on six hits and one walk while striking out five across seven innings to earn the victory Saturday against the Reds.
EDGE Analysis
Ross was provided a ton of offensive support as he easily sailed to his fourth victory of the campaign. Although he's had plenty of ugly outings this season, he's now held opponents to two or fewer earned runs in three of his last four outings, and despite an ERA well over five, he might be turning a corner toward consistent fantasy relevance. He'll make his next start Thursday against the Cubs.

Ross (3-3) allowed four runs (two earned) on nine hits and one walk across six innings in Sunday's loss to the Mets. He struck out four.
EDGE Analysis
Ross was foiled by opposing starter Jacob deGrom on this day, as the latter launched a solo home run and put a sacrifice bunt down that led to another run, all while out-dueling him on the mound. A pair of unearned runs following a Matt Wieters error in the fourth inning didn't help his cause and partially contributed to his removal with an elevated pitch count after six frames. While Ross was far from perfect, this was something of a bounce-back effort after he was hit hard in his previous outing and gives him two quality starts in his last three tries. He still owns an uninspiring 5.98 ERA on the season and will look to right the ship against the Reds in his next start on Saturday.

Ross allowed five runs on nine hits and three walks across 5.2 innings in Tuesday's no-decision versus the Braves. He struck out two.
EDGE Analysis
Ross played with fire all night and was finally breached in the fourth inning, when Dansby Swanson doubled in a pair of runs. He was stung again in the sixth by a two-run home run from Rio Ruiz and saw another run tacked onto his ledger when the bullpen allowed an inherited runner to score. Ross has delivered a pair of brilliant outings since returning from a stint in the minor leagues, but he has allowed five or more runs in each of his other three outings and owns a 6.39 ERA after this latest showing. He is currently scheduled to start Sunday against the Mets, but his place in the rotation could be jeopardized by another poor performance.

Ross (3-2) fired 7.1 innings of one-run ball with 12 strikeouts, four hits and no walks Thursday against the Orioles during the Nationals' 6-1 win.
EDGE Analysis
The fortunate recipient of a plethora of run support this season, Ross clearly did not need much help against Baltimore. He had lost each of his last two starts against the A's and Padres while allowing 12 runs - eleven earned - in seven combined innings. The Nationals have now won six of the right-hander's seven starts.

Ross (2-2) allowed seven runs, six of which were earned, on six hits and two walks while striking out five over three innings to take the loss Saturday against the Athletics.
EDGE Analysis
Ross gave up a pair of two-run homers in the first inning and never really got on track aside from fanning five hitters. He's allowed at least five runs in four of his last five starts, and his 7.34 ERA makes him a player to aggressively avoid having on fantasy rosters. He'll make his next start Thursday against the Orioles.

Ross (1-2) allowed five runs on 12 hits and a walk while striking out four over four innings in Sundays' 5-3 loss to the Padres.
EDGE Analysis
As had been the case prior to his demotion to Triple-A earlier in the season, Ross lost his arm slot and his pitches flattened out, leading to a barrage of hits from San Diego. The Nats are committed to having him as a starter this year, but if his struggles continue the next step might be spending some time in the bullpen while he works on his mechanics. Ross' next start is scheduled for Saturday in Oakland.

Ross (2-0) pitched eight innings, allowing one run on five hits with six strikeouts in Tuesday's win over the Mariners.
EDGE Analysis
In his first game since being recalled from Triple-A Syracuse, Ross dominated the Mariners in a 10-1 win, allowing jut five baserunners over a career high-tying eight innings. After allowing a single to lead off the game, Ross set down the next 12 men he faced as his offense built him a comfortable lead. With the strong performance, Ross likely earned himself another start on Sunday against the Padres.
