If Ross (leg) can throw a bullpen session Thursday, he will make Saturday's start against the Cubs, Mark Zuckerman of MASN Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Erick Fedde will continue to prepare to start Saturday in case the Nationals determine Thursday that Ross won't be able to make that start.

Ross (leg) was walking with a slight limp Tuesday but is still tentatively scheduled to make his next start Saturday against the Cubs, Mark Zuckerman of MASN Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
His right leg, which was hit by a comebacker in Monday's start, was still bandaged. Erick Fedde, who will lose his rotation spot to Max Scherzer (back), has been told to prepare in case Ross can't make that start.

X-rays on Ross' right leg returned negative after he was removed from Monday's game against Pittsburgh, Mark Zuckerman of MASN Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ross was struck by a comebacker on his right leg, and after talking with the team trainer, he was forced to leave the game. "I wish I could've stayed in the game, but it wasn't looking very likely," stated Ross. "He asked if I wanted to throw, I told him it was getting tight. So I didn't think it was going to be for the best." It's unclear if the right-hander will be ready to make his next start, so his status will be worth monitoring over the next few days.

Ross left Monday's game against the Pirates after taking a comebacker off his right leg, Dan Kolko of MASN Sports reports. He allowed three hits and struck out two over 3.1 scoreless innings prior to exiting.
EDGE Analysis
Ross didn't appear to be limping after the play, though with an 11-0 lead, the Nationals may have elected to exercise caution with the right-hander. He'll be considered day-to-day moving forward.

Ross (3-3) allowed one earned run on five hits and two walks while striking out three across 6.2 innings to earn the win Tuesday against the Reds.
EDGE Analysis
Ross relied on 11 groundball outs to hold the Reds' offense in check. That covered up the fact that he was hardly dominant, whiffing just three batters on the strength of eight swinging strikes across 92 total pitches. Still, he's turned in three consecutive strong outings, allowing just one earned run in 18 innings. In that same span, he's recorded only a 11:9 K:BB, suggesting he may be pitching over his head. Nevertheless, he's in line to draw a positive matchup in his next projected start Monday at Pittsburgh.

Ross (2-3) picked up the win Wednesday, allowing three hits and two walks over six scoreless innings while striking out five in a 4-1 victory over the Giants.
EDGE Analysis
The right-hander may be solidifying the fifth starter spot for the Nats. Over two starts in August, Ross has given up only one run in 11.1 innings, although his 8:7 K:BB isn't exactly dominant. He'll look to keep his current run going in his next outing Tuesday, at home against the Reds.

Ross (1-3) earned the win Friday after holding the Diamondbacks scoreless over 5.1 innings. He allowed five walks and a hit while striking out three.
EDGE Analysis
Ross turned in a nice bounce-back performance, combining with the bullpen to shut Arizona out, 3-0. The right-hander has pitched mostly in relief this season, aside from a start against the Braves on July 21. In his last outing, Ross worked behind the opener, tossing 4.2 innings while giving up seven runs (six earned). The 26-year-old has the potential to make an impact on Washington's rotation if he can continue to improve his efficiency. Over 20 appearances this season, Ross owns an 8.10 ERA, 1.93 WHIP and 28:18 K:BB. He'll make his next start Wednesday at San Francisco.

Ross (0-3) took the loss Saturday, giving up seven runs (six earned) on nine hits and two walks over 4.2 innings while striking out seven in a 9-3 loss to Dodgers on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Staked to a 2-0 lead, Ross was greeted with a third-inning solo homer from Will Smith, and matters didn't improve much from there. He permitted three runs in the fourth, two in the sixth, and one more in the seventh before departing after 86 pitches. The 26-year-old right-hander will carry an ugly 9.85 ERA, 2.11 WHIP, and 25:13 K:BB over 24.2 innings into his next start Friday in Arizona.

Ross is scheduled to appear as the primary pitcher behind opener Matt Grace against the Dodgers on Saturday, Jamal Collier of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ross started in his previous outing against a strong Braves offense and managed to hold his own for the most part. He still has a 9.45 ERA through 20 innings and is facing another dynamic offense Saturday. If this opener experiment goes somewhat well for the Nationals, expect Ross to get another crack as a primary pitcher with both Austin Voth (shoulder) and Jeremy Hellickson (shoulder) not expected back for another couple of weeks.

Ross will start Saturday's game against the Dodgers, Jesse Dougherty of The Washington Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ross will pick up at least one more start after turning in a decent outing against Atlanta on Sunday. He surrendered three runs and struck out six over 5.1 innings. Despite a serviceable performance, he's accrued a 9.45 ERA and 2.05 WHIP with 18 punchouts over 20 innings this season in the big leagues.
