Tigers Place Joe Nathan On 15-Day DL: Soria New Closer rotoballer.com Wed 4/8/15 11:38 PM
This article references David Price, Joakim Soria, Joe Nathan, Torii Hunter and more! After an opening day save, Detroit Tigers closer, Joe Nathan, has been placed on the 15-day DL with a right flexor strain in his pitching elbow, according to HardballTalk.
The 40-year-old, 15-year veteran, was hoping to bounce back from a really bad season. Nathan pitched in 62 games last season with Detroit. He finished with a 4.81 ERA, while he had a 1.39 and 2.80 ERA the previous two seasons.
Nathan came in for the one-out save on opening day as David Price was unable to go the distance[...]Keep on reading: Tigers Place Joe Nathan On 15-Day DL: Soria New Closer

Detroit Tigers
The Tigers closer situation is fairly settled, though not exactly awe-inspiring. Joe Nathan is currently set to lock down the ninth inning, with Joakim Soria and Al Alburquerque backing him up. The 40-year-old Nathan is a far cry from the perennial All Star that used to close for the Twins in the 2000s, and I have little faith in him after a questionable 2014 season. An abysmal ERA (4.81) and WHIP (1.534) were not masked by the 35 saves he did manage to secure. You can’t for[...]Keep on reading: MLB Closer Breakdown: AL Central Edition – 2015 Fantasy Baseball

A Day In The Game baseballguys.com Wed 7/24/13 1:06 PM
Let's wind er up and let her rip. Some of the more intriguing storylines in fantasy baseball follow. Bruce Chen allowed one run over six innings Tuesday. I can't say anything other than I'm shocked to look at his pitching line and see that he's 4-0 with a 1.97 ERA and 1.18 WHIP over 45.2 [...]

Too much? -- ErikJKatz We're all aware of it by now, but the attrition rate of closers this season is better than 50 percent, and that's just stupefying. What it means [...]
