Joe Mauer's Career May Be Winding Down rotoballer.com Thu 9/13/18 1:02 AM
Minnesota Twins first baseman Joe Mauer may consider hanging up his cleats after the season. The 35-year-old will take his time after the season to consider a multitude of factors before deciding if he will return in 2019. The veteran is batting .274 on the season but has only seven home runs and 43 RBI as his career winds down. His career .306 average is the sixth highest among active players with at least 3,000 plate appearances. The 2018 season is also the final year of his nine-year, $184 m[...]
Joe Mauer Hits Grand Slam On Tuesday rotoballer.com Wed 9/12/18 8:22 AM
Minnesota Twins first baseman Joe Mauer went 2-for-4 with a grand slam in his team's 10-5 win over the New York Yankees on Tuesday. The veteran first baseman sent a fifth-inning offering from Yankees right-hander Jonathan Loaisiga over the fence for his fifth career grand slam. Mauer is now hitting .272 with six homers, 51 runs, and 43 RBI in 423 at-bats this season. He doesn't offer much power at this stage of his career but he can still be useful in AL-only formats. Mauer will look to stay h[...]
Joe Mauer Picks Up 20th Double rotoballer.com Wed 8/29/18 5:08 AM
Minnesota Twins first baseman Joe Mauer went 2-for-4 with a double in his team's 8-1 loss to the Cleveland Indians on Tuesday. Mauer was one of the few Twins to figure out Cleveland starter Carlos Carrasco, who allowed just four hits over 7 2/3 innings of work. The veteran first baseman is now hitting .278 with a .729 OPS, five homers, 45 runs, and 39 RBI on the year. He doesn't hit for enough power to be a fantasy option in mixed leagues at this point of his career but he still gets on base o[...]

Joe Mauer is Sitting Out on Friday rotoballer.com Fri 8/17/18 3:06 PM
Minnesota Twins first baseman Joe Mauer (rest) is out of the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Detroit Tigers. It appears that Mauer is just getting a routine day off for this contest. Ehire Adrianza will bat eighth and play first base versus lefty Matt Boyd. Adrianza is hitting .364/.462/.545 off Boyd in his career. However, he does not have much upside with the bat, so DFS owners can avoid him for this contest.
Joe Mauer Scores Three Runs On Thursday rotoballer.com Fri 8/17/18 6:15 AM
Minnesota Twins first baseman Joe Mauer had a vintage performance Thursday, going 2-for-4 with a single, a double, a walk, and three runs scored. On a day when the Twins would go on to score 15 runs, it's a bit surprising that Mauer didn't drive any in but he proved productive regardless. The 35-year-old is obviously not what he used to be, but he's hitting .272 with 42 runs scored. There is still some fantasy value to be had with Mauer.
Tyler Austin, Joe Mauer Back In Lineup On Tuesday rotoballer.com Tue 8/14/18 1:09 PM
Minnesota Twins outfielder Tyler Austin and first baseman Joe Mauer are both back in the lineup for the start of a series against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Austin will serve as designated hitter while the outfield is manned by Eddie Rosario, Max Kepler, and Jake Cave. Mitch Garver will catch for Jake Odorizzi. The Twins aren't having the best season and their offense has to take a lot of blame. Outside of Rosario, the lineup doesn't contain many consistent fantasy options, and even he's bee[...]

We've looked at expected slugging numbers in comparison to actual slugging percentage before, so I'll spare you the full explanation. In this edition, we'll look at the last month's worth of data only to find risers and fallers for possible buy, sell, add or drop possibilities.
Many fantasy baseball owners are starting to see the value of MLB's Statcast advanced stats in order to help identify potential risers and sleepers. Just as we do for pitchers, this weekly series will examine a handful[...]

He's hitting .275 with only three home runs, a .357 on-base percentage (second lowest of his career) and a .367 slugging percentage (career low). Morrison has been a bust after breaking out [...]
