Peralta made his one hit count Sunday, going 1-for-4 with a solo home run in the loss to Philadelphia. Peralta took Phillies starter Adam Morgan deep in the fourth inning but it was far from enough offense as the Cardinals fell 9-2. Peralta is hitting a sparkling .311/.368/.506 in a year where shortstop production is hard to find for fantasy owners. Both his wOBA and wRC+ lead all of baseball among shortstops.

Peralta smacked his team leading ninth home run and doubled in Sunday's win over the Dodgers, going 3-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBI. Peralta has been as sharp with the glove this year but offensively he's been even better. Even with his defense slipping some he's on pace to top his 5.3 WAR from a season ago. Peralta continues to be one of the best bargains in baseball for general manager John Mozeliak.

Peralta provided the Cardinals all the offense they would need in the 3-1 win over Los Angeles Sunday, going 2-for-3 with a two-run home run and knocking in the third run on an eighth inning single. In almost a season and a half as the Cardinals shortstop Peralta is shaping up to be quite a bargain and terrific signing by general manager John Mozeliak. For the season Peralta is hitting .310/.373/.519 with eight home runs, 25 runs scored and 30 RBI while providing excellent defense.

Peralta went 2-for-3 with two doubles, an RBI and a run scored in a 3-0 win against the Dodgers on Friday. Peralta was placed in the three-hole Friday with Matt Holliday sitting, and he responded, accounting for two of the Cardinals' three runs. Peralta has had a fantastic season and is vying for an All-Star bid with his .311 average and 26 RBI at the shallow shortstop position.

Peralta went 2-for-4 with a walk-off solo home run in the 10th inning of Monday's 3-2 victory over the Diamondbacks. The homer was Peralta's seventh of the season, tying him with Wilmer Flores for the league lead among shortstops. Peralta also ranks third at his position in batting average (.304) and RBI (23), achievements that bolster his claim to the title of most valuable fantasy shortstop through the season's first two months.

Peralta went 1-for-3 with two walks and a two-run homer in the 10-4 loss to Detroit on Friday. Peralta showed up in a big way against his former squad with a two-run homer in the seventh inning to bring the Cardinals back in the game. Detroit responded by scoring five runs the last two innings, but it was still a fine effort from Peralta who has secured a nice role as the clean-up hitter in the potent St. Louis lineup.

Peralta was a late scratch from the Cardinals' lineup Thursday. He was originally slotted in to DH with Pete Kozma playing shortstop but Matt Holliday was a last-minute add as the team's DH Thursday. Make sure Peralta is out of your daily lineups, and he should be expected back in the mix this weekend.

Peralta continued his hot streak Saturday, going 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI in the 7-5 loss to the Pirates, Peralta raised his average above the .300 mark with another solid performance and looks like he's really found his role in the middle of that potent Cardinals' lineup. Peralta is one of few shortstops in the league whose a good bet to hit 20 homers by the end of the season.

Peralta went 1-for-5 Wednesday against the Cubs, delivering a fourth inning solo home run off Jon Lester. Peralta scored twice in the game but has cooled off after hitting .316/.356/.468 in April. It's far from a slump, though, as he's gotten a hit five of the six games he's played so far in May so look for a big game or two to come soon.

Peralta is out of the lineup Thursday. With rookie Tim Cooney making his first big league start, the Cardinals will opt to give him the best infield defense possible with Pete Kozma manning shortstop. Peralta is off to a great start at the plate, slashing .316/.349/.468 and typically hitting in the middle of the Cardinals' lineup.
