Hahn (0-1) gave up three runs on six hits and two walks while striking out seven over six innings in Thursday's 3-1 loss to the Royals.
EDGE Analysis
He wasn't overly efficient, throwing 58 of 98 pitches for strikes, but overall is was a fairly successful return to the rotation for Hahn despite the loss. The righty will get a tougher test the next time he takes the mound, though, as he faces the Rangers at home Tuesday.

Hahn will draw the start Thursday against the Royals, Jane Lee of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The team has opted to have Hahn replace Raul Alcantara in the starting rotation following Alcantara's disastrous outing Friday in which he was shelled for eight earned runs over two innings against the Rangers. Hahn threw six innings of relief in that game, allowing two earned runs on seven hits and a walk. In nine starts in 2016, the 27-year-old posted a 6.02 ERA over 46.1 innings. He should only be viewed as a viable option in the deepest of leagues.

Hahn gave up two earned runs on seven hits and a walk over six innings in Friday's 10-5 loss to the Rangers. He struck out three.
EDGE Analysis
Called on after starter Raul Alcantara imploded over the first two innings, Hahn came on and proved to be a steadying force against the Rangers' potent lineup. He got through his six frames in an efficient 78 pitches, with his only mistakes coming in the sixth inning in the form of a Carlos Gomez RBI double and Nomar Mazara run-scoring single. Hahn may have earned himself a turn in the rotation with Friday's effort, as manager Bob Melvin may determine that he's seen all he wants to see out of Alcantara.

Hahn was recalled from Triple-A Nashville on Wednesday, MLB.com's Jane Lee reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hahn's poor performance in spring training knocked him out of consideration for a rotation spot, but he'll at least get a chance to stick with the Athletics early in the season as a long reliever. Expect Hahn's appearances to be mostly limited to mop-up duty while he remains with the big club.

Hahn was optioned to Triple-A Nashville on Sunday, Jane Lee of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hahn's spring performance (13.50 ERA) left much to be desired and has landed him in Triple-A to begin the season. He's a candidate to return to the majors if an injury occurs to one of the Athletics' starting pitchers during 2017.

Hahn gave up seven runs (five earned) with eight hits and two home runs in Saturday's spring start. He's unlikely to win a spot in the starting rotation since schedule doesn't coincide with the rest of the A's starters, the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hahn has struggled with a 13.50 ERA this spring. Andrew Triggs and Raul Alcantara will likely win the final two spots in the Oakland rotation as a result.

Hahn (1-1) gave up seven earned runs on eight hits and two walks over 3.1 innings in Sunday's 9-2 Cactus League loss to the Rockies.
EDGE Analysis
Hahn endured his first rough outing of spring after coming into Sunday with just three runs allowed over 11.2 innings. The right-hander is still a leading candidate for a rotation spot, particularly with Sonny Gray (lat) already missing the beginning of the regular season. Hahn pitched to contact against a Rockies lineup with several regulars and surrendered a solo home run to Charlie Blackmon in the fourth to cap off his afternoon. Hahn's post-game assessment of his performance centered on his faulty location. "It kind of got out of hand there," he said. "I think I was just up a little bit today. I didn't execute pitches like I wanted to. I got myself into some counts where predictable fastballs were coming, and I think if I could have executed those down, it would have been a different story, but I didn't."

Hahn fired four scoreless innings in relief during Monday's 3-1 Cactus League loss to the Reds, surrendering only two hits and recording two strikeouts.
EDGE Analysis
While it would be considered a highly encouraging outing under any circumstance, Hahn's stint on the mound Monday had to prove particularly comforting to an A's squad that will be without ace Sonny Gray (lat strain) to start the regular season. The injury has presumably bumped Hahn -- who opened spring battling for the fifth starter role with Andrew Triggs and Raul Alcantara -- up a notch in the rotation for the time being. The 27-year-old now has a 10-inning scoreless streak over his past three outings, factoring in the three frames he notched in an exhibition against Team Italy last Wednesday. Manager Bob Melvin seems increasingly bullish on Hahn's prospects, particularly due the apparent resurgence of his trademark pitch. "That's the way we expect Jesse to pitch," Melvin said. "And even if he has to back off the throttle a little bit on the fastball velocity, the sink is what made him successful three years ago so it's good to see. Ball was down in the zone, getting a lot of balls beat into the ground. And when we've seen him in the past pitch well, that's what he's done."

Hahn (1-0), who'd been hit hard in spring debut last Saturday, bounced back by pitching three scoreless innings in Thursday's 5-1 Cactus League victory over the Rangers. He struck out three.
EDGE Analysis
Hahn put some minds, likely including his own, at ease following his rocky start last Saturday versus the Cubs in the Cactus League opener. As opposed to that outing, when he'd gotten into trouble early and also sabotaged his own cause with a fielding gaffe, Hahn was particularly impressive in overcoming a leadoff single by Delino DeShields, striking out Travis Snider, Ryan Rua and Joey Gallo to decisively snuff out any threat. Catcher Stephen Vogt was complimentary of Hahn's four-pitch repertoire, while manager Bob Melvin noted his work out of the stretch and judicious and unprompted use of his slide step. "He did some really good things today in the stretch, was quicker to the plate," Melvin said. "He threw his breaking pitches out of the stretch for strikes. I thought he threw the ball really well."

Hahn struggled in Saturday's 4-3 Cactus League loss to the Cubs, giving up three earned runs on four hits and one walk over 1.2 innings. He struck out two.
EDGE Analysis
Hahn's bid for the fifth starter job got off to a fairly disastrous start, but there were a couple of positive signs despite the ugly stat line. The 27-year-old was happy with his fastball, which hit 93-94 mph. and catcher Bruce Maxwell reported that his changeup and curve were sharp as well, Hahn was also his own worst enemy by deflecting a Matt Szczur grounder that likely would have been fielded cleanly by shortstop Marcus Semien, which allowed two runs to score. Szczur eventually came home on an RBI groundout by Jason Heyward, closing out a rough first outing for the right-hander.
