Jerry Hairston Jr. (wrist) is expected to be activated from the disabled list Monday. Hairston has played a couple rehab games with Double-A Harrisburg and his wrist evidently feels good. The utilityman will return to a .260/.335/.352 batting line with two homers over 69 games this season with the Nats.

Jerry Hairston Jr. (wrist) is aiming to return from the 15-day disabled list on July 18. Hairston was thrown on the DL at the beginning of July with a small fracture in his right wrist. He took dry swings and fielded ground balls Sunday without feeling any lingering pain or discomfort. The real test, however, will be batting practice.

Jerry Hairston Jr. revealed that he has a "little break" in his right hand as a result of a hit by pitch Wednesday, but he'll try to play through the injury. He's obviously yet to test it out by swinging a bat, so his intentions might be a little optimistic at this point. For now consider him day-to-day, but don't be surprised if he winds up on the DL.

Jerry Hairston Jr. left Wednesday's game after being hit in the left wrist by a pitch. Hairston looked to be in substantial pain, so it's possible he could have broken something. We should know more later Wednesday or Thursday. Ian Desmond took Hairston's spot in the lineup.
