Starting Pitcher Waiver Wire Pickups for Week 10 rotoballer.com Sun 6/9/19 7:30 AM
Before we dive into this week's recommendation, kudos to my colleague David Emerick for filling in admirably in this space the last two weeks while I was catching up with family and friends back east.As we move deeper into the first half of the season, the waiver wire usually thins out a good bit. Most teams are still angling to win and actively participating, and between injuries and finally cutting the cord on early-season disappointments, it can be difficult to find reinforcements. Difficult [...]
Two-Start Pitcher Streamers: Week 11 rotoballer.com Fri 6/7/19 8:00 AM
I don't mean to toot my own horn here, but man my Week 9 picks were probably the best I'm going to make this year.Steven Matz, Sonny Gray, Lance Lynn, Trevor Richards and Jose Urena combined for seven quality starts while posting a 7-3 record, a 3.13 ERA and 62 strikeouts. The winner out of that group was Richards, who was 2-0 with a 0.75 ERA and 13 strikeouts over 12 innings. [...]
The Cut List (Week 10) - Time to Let Go? rotoballer.com Sun 6/2/19 7:00 AM
Welcome to June, and to something a little different this week, although it may end up a one-week affair. Today we suggest a couple cuts each at varying league sizes: 10, 12, and 14-15 teams. Recommendations in one league size obviously apply to smaller leagues. You can also feel free to drop a shallower suggestion in a deeper league. Generally, however, the dividing line is there for a reason.Stats are through Friday, May 31. The usual weekly notes do not apply, of course. Also, the [...]

Week 7 Starts & Sits - All Starting Pitcher Matchups rotoballer.com Mon 5/13/19 5:35 AM
Mid-May marks the fantasy baseball season's quarter pole, which can be exciting as data becomes robust, but also frightful for pitching as warmer air leads to long flies. Are you keeping tabs of park factors, team stats and pitchers tweaking with their repertoire? [...]
Fantasy Baseball Op Ed - Game of Thrones Edition rotoballer.com Sun 5/12/19 8:30 AM
Now that I've already spoiled Avengers: Endgame on Youtube(hey, the Russo brothers said it was OK), it's time to pivot to the other most topical item in 2019 pop culture: Game of Thrones.I admit I'm not an avid viewer of the show, so don't take this as a love letter to the series. OK, I haven't really "watched" the show per se, but it looks cool. It's not that I don't want to watch it, I just don't have that kind of time to invest. Put it this way - I'm still halfway through Season 2 of Breaking[...]
Two-Start Pitcher Streamers: Week 7 rotoballer.com Sat 5/11/19 3:45 AM
Well, seven weeks in and I'm already struggling to come up with a decent intro. I'm calling a mulligan on the intro this week and let's just get into the recap of the last two weeks.Julio Teheran is the winner in Week 5 despite going 0-1 in his two starts. After allowing four runs over seven innings with eight strikeouts against the Padres, Teheran earned the quality start against the Marlins with four strikeouts over six shutout innings. In [...]
