Jeff Suppan (triceps) will throw a 30-pitch bullpen session Tuesday. The veteran right-hander has been rehabbing in Arizona after suffering a triceps injury during spring training. He'll be assigned to Triple-A Tucson once he's healthy.

Padres reassigned RHP Jeff Suppan to minor league camp. The Padres also reassigned right-handers Casey Kelly and Joe Wieland and Casey Kelly and first baseman-outfielder Matt Clark to minor league camp. Suppan, Kelly and Wieland are all expected to open the season in the rotation with Triple-A Tucson.

Jeff Suppan was sidelined with a triceps injury in his last start and is out indefinitely. Suppan signed a minor league contract with the Padres the winter after missing the entire 2011 season. The 37-year-old will serve as insurance for the starting rotation.

Padres signed RHP Jeff Suppan to a minor league contract. He'll also get a spring training invite. Suppan didn't throw a pitch in the majors last season, but had a 4.78 ERA and 94/51 K/BB ratio over 165 2/3 innings with the Royals' Triple-A affiliate. The 37-year-old owns a 4.69 ERA over 16 seasons in the majors. He'll serve as insurance for the starting rotation.

Corey Brock of MLB.com reports that the Padres will sign right-hander Jeff Suppan to a minor league contract. Suppan, 37, had a 4.78 ERA and 94/51 K/BB ratio over 165 2/3 innings with the Royals' Triple-A affiliate last season. He had a 5.06 ERA between Brewers and Cardinals in 2010 and is likely to serve as organizational depth for San Diego.
