Martinez (elbow) will start at designated hitter and bat third in Wednesday's contest against the Athletics.
EDGE Analysis
Martinez was lifted from Tuesday's game after being struck on the left elbow by a pitch, but he's back in there without having to miss any starts. The 36-year-old's production has fallen off since the start of July, as he's slashed just .221/.328/.354 across 33 contests.

Martinez was removed from Tuesday's game against the Athletics after getting hit in the elbow by a pitch, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Martinez took a 100-mph fastball off his left elbow during the second inning and remained in the game to run the bases, eventually coming around to score on a Jose Iglesias single. However, he was pinch hit for by Mark Vientos in the third frame. Martinez was able to escape the incident with only a bruise, so he shouldn't need to miss much time -- if any at all.

Martinez went 3-for-4 with a home run and four RBI in Friday's 8-4 win over Atlanta.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran slugger got the fireworks started with a grand slam off Charlie Morton in the third inning, his 11th home run of the season and one of three Mets long balls in the frame. Martinez snapped an 18-game homer drought with the blast, but his bat has been coming around since the All-Star break -- over his last seven games, he's gone 9-for-29 (.310).

EDGE Analysis
He'll begin the final game before the All-Star break on the bench while Pete Alonso gets a day out of the field as the Mets' designated hitter. Martinez went hitless while striking out five times in eight at-bats over the first two games of the series and is batting just .194 with a home run, four RBI and a 37.2 percent strikeout rate across 11 contests in July.

Martinez went 3-for-3 with a double, a walk, an RBI and two runs Thursday against the Nationals.
EDGE Analysis
Martinez entered Thursday's contest mired in a 4-for-32 (.125) slump over the previous 10 games but reached base four times while collecting just his third three-hit performance of the season. It was also just the second time in 12 games he drove in at least one run. Despite the recent slump, the 36-year-old Martinez continues to provide quality production in his 14th season, posting a .274 average with 10 homers, 15 doubles, 38 RBI and 27 runs over 234 at-bats.

Martinez is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Pirates, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Mets are concluding their four-game series with the Pirates with a Monday contest that begins at 12:35 p.m. ET, so Martinez is on the bench in what looks to be little more than a veteran's maintenance day. Francisco Alvarez will get a day off behind the dish and will occupy Martinez's usual spot in the lineup at designated hitter.
