Brugman went 1-for-3 with an RBI single, two walks and a run in Thursday's 12-9 loss to the Astros.
EDGE Analysis
The rookie continues to hold his own in his first exposure to big-league pitching, with Thursday's effort extending his hitting streak to three games and marking the sixth game in the last seven in which he's hit safely. While Brugman has yet to tally an extra-base hit with the Athletics, the 25-year-old is providing some reason for optimism while gaining some valuable experience against major-league arms.

Brugman went 2-for-5 in Sunday's 5-4 loss to the Rays.
EDGE Analysis
The rookie has now posted three straight two-hit efforts after going 0-for-4 in his major-league debut on Friday. Brugman operated out of the leadoff spot for the first time Sunday, a role he may get an extended audition in considering his solid plate discipline and early production.

Brugman will start in left field and lead off Sunday against the Rays, Roger Mooney of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Playing in just his second and third big-league games Saturday, Brugman was a standout performer for the Athletics in the doubleheader, going 4-for-7 with two walks and two RBI. The outfielder doesn't offer much pop or speed, but he's demonstrated strong on-base skills while seeing time at Triple-A Nashville the last two seasons. The Athletics haven't gotten much out of the leadoff spot this season, so if Brugman is able to display a patient eye at the plate over the next few contests, it's not out of the question for him to settle in as the team's table setter on a more permanent basis.

Brugman was recalled by the A's on Friday, prior to their game against Tampa Bay.
EDGE Analysis
Brugman is set to make his major league debut after showing off at Triple-A Nashville this season (.288/.373/.364 in 33 games). He will take the place of Mark Canha, who was optioned to Nashville in a corresponding move. Brugman will certainly get his chances while with Oakland, as Rajai Davis has been struggling besides coming through with a four-hit game Wednesday.

Brugman will be promoted to Oakland on Friday prior to the A's game against Tampa Bay, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Brugman is set to make his first trip up to the big leagues when the team officially announces his arrival Friday. The 25-year-old is hitting .288/.373/.364 with one home run and eight RBI at Triple-A Nashville this season, and has been touted as one of the top prospects in Oakland's organization. With a struggling outfield and a doubleheader slated for Saturday, the A's may choose to give Brugman a chance to shine this weekend.

Brugman went 2-for-6 in Triple-A Nashville's 13-3 win over Fresno on Thursday, extending his current hitting streak to six games.
EDGE Analysis
Brugman has been on fire over that stretch, hitting .481 (13-for-27) with a double, home run, four RBI and five runs. The 25-year-old is slashing an outstanding .377/.441/472 overall and is pounding righties for a .383 average. While Rajai Davis retains a grasp of the centerfield job at the major-league level despite mixed success, Brugman is clearly knocking on the door for the future.

Brugman (undisclosed) is back in action with Triple-A Nashville, and is 5-for-8 with a double and zero strikeouts through two games.
EDGE Analysis
He opened the year on the 7-day DL with an undisclosed injury, but returned to action Wednesday and has been hitting right out of the gate. Brugman has a fourth outfielder's profile, but given his organization, he could find his way to big-league at-bats at some point this season. He hit .295/.352/.438 with seven home runs and five steals in 433 plate appearances at Triple-A last year.

Brugman is on the shelf at Triple-A Nashville with an undisclosed injury, MLB.com's Mike Rosenbaum reports.
EDGE Analysis
He had an impressive showing in big-league camp, and figures to get a shot at some point in the majors this season if he hits when he returns to action with Nashville. A 25-year-old left-handed outfielder, Brugman has hit at almost every stop in the minors, most recently hitting .295/.352/.438 with seven homers and five steals in 94 games at Triple-A last year. However, it is possible that he is just a Quadruple-A hitter, given his age and lack of pedigree.

Brugman was optioned to Triple-A Nashville on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Despite his solid spring thus far, where he has slashed .313/.421/.438 across 16 at-bats, Brugman was pretty much always destined for Triple-A to start the season. He has the ability to play all three outfield spots and could earn himself a call-up to the big league club if he is able to take advantage of his time in Nashville.

Brugman, who went 1-for-3 with a run in Sunday's 5-4 Cactus League win over the Mariners, has impressed this spring with his all-around approach and skill set, Jane Lee of MLB.com reports. "Exactly what guys in development have told me, that he's a gamer, sticks his nose in there, has tough at-bats, gets big hits, understands how to play center field," A's manager Bob Melvin said. "He had a really good year last year and deserves to be here and deserves to get a hard look."
EDGE Analysis
Brugman is now hitting an even .300 over his first 10 at-bats against big league pitching following Sunday's production. The 25-year-old, who's steadily ascended the organizational ranks since being selected out of BYU in the 17th round of the 2013 draft, was protected from the Rule 5 draft this winter when he added to the 40-man roster, a testament to the potential the A's see in him. Capable of playing all three outfield positions, Brugman could eventually find a home in center field, his most proficient position, at the big league level. Although he's expected to start the 2017 season at Triple-A Nashville, the promising outfielder hopes to emulate the path of infielder Ryon Healy, who thrived in a major league opportunity in 2016 after beginning the campaign with a second tour of duty at Double-A Midland, as Brugman did. "We both kind of had a chip on our shoulders. Repeating a level is tough. It kind of gets you down if you let it, so to have that kind of a running competition, it's a healthy thing to have to kind of push each other."
