Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com hears that Jason Grilli has drawn the interest of some teams as a closer. The Pirates would love to have him back in a setup role ahead of Joel Hanrahan, but Grilli would figure to jump at the chance to close for someone. It's not clear at this point which teams are considering him for the ninth inning. Grilli is in demand after posting a 2.91 ERA and 1.14 WHIP with 90 strikeouts over 58 2/3 innings this past season.

Jason Grilli's agent, Gary Sheffield, said eight teams are interested in his client and three of them have already made offers. "We're not in a hurry," Sheffield said. "There are some things we want to look at a little further. We're not sure the market has fully developed for Jason." It's no surprise that Grilli is in demand after posting a 2.91 ERA and 1.14 WHIP with 90 strikeouts over 58 2/3 innings this season. The Red Sox are among the teams showing interest.

Pirates manager Clint Hurdle has named Jason Grilli as the top set-up option in his bullpen. Most had assumed that Evan Meek would reprise his role from last year setting up Joel Hanrahan, but journeyman Jason Grilli who will be the first option in the eighth inning. Grilli should have value in leagues which utilize holds and could even be picked up as a handcuff for Hanrahan owners in NL-only formats.
