Odorizzi's (arm) potential availability for Opening Day is in doubt, Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Odorizzi threw another bullpen session Sunday but has yet to face hitters this spring after dealing with some fatigue in his pitching arm. The Rangers are expected to have a better idea next week as to Odorizzi's outlook. He's projected to serve as a multi-inning reliever for Texas.

Odorizzi (arm) threw a bullpen session Sunday, Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Odorizzi is behind other pitchers due to what Texas general manager Chris Young described as normal fatigue. That he was able to throw Sunday indicates a Cactus League debut is in the offing. A long time starter in MLB, Odorizzi is expected to pitch multi-inning relief for the Rangers in 2023.

Rangers general manager Chris Young said Wednesday that Odorizzi is a bit behind schedule in spring training due to right arm fatigue, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Young sounded unconcerned, indicating that Odorizzi was dealing with typical early spring aches and pains. It's not clear, however, when Odorizzi might be cleared for Cactus League action. The veteran right-hander currently appears to be in line to fill a long-relief role for Texas, though he could be set for a good number of piggyback starts or turns as a primary pitcher out of the bullpen.

Odorizzi and cash considerations were acquired by the Rangers from Atlanta on Wednesday in exchange for Kolby Allard.
EDGE Analysis
Odorizzi was acquired by Atlanta from Houston at the trade deadline and finished 2022 with a 4.40 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 86:35 K:BB across 106.1 innings. The 32-year-old was a fringe rotation piece for Atlanta but should have a more secure starting spot on Texas' staff to open 2023. Odorizzi isn't officially under contract for next year but has a $12.5 million player option, and the trade indicates he's expected to exercise that option.

Odorizzi (6-6) got the win after he tossed five innings, giving up one run on two hits and a walk while striking out seven in Tuesday's victory against the Marlins.
EDGE Analysis
Odorizzi pitched three scoreless frames to open Tuesday's outing before surrendering a solo home run to Jesus Sanchez in the fourth inning. The long ball accounted for the only blemish on his line while his seven strikeouts were his highest total since Aug. 22. The right-hander will finish the regular season with a 4.40 ERA and 1.33 WHIP while striking out 86 batters over 106.1 innings in 22 starts.

Odorizzi did not factor into the decision Wednesday, allowing two runs on four hits and three walks over 3.2 innings in a 3-2 loss against the Nationals.
EDGE Analysis
For the fourth start in a row, Odorizzi failed to complete five innings. Wednesday's struggles were highlighted by a 0:3 K:BB on the night as manager Brian Snitker opted to turn to the bullpen in the fourth inning with Atlanta fighting for the division title. In nine starts since being traded to Atlanta, Odorizzi owns a 5.69 ERA with one win compared to three losses. He is tentatively scheduled to face Miami next week.

Odorizzi (5-6) took the loss in Friday's 9-1 rout at the hands of the Phillies, surrendering eight runs on 10 hits and three walks over four innings. He struck out six.
EDGE Analysis
The Ks salvaged a little fantasy value for the right-hander, but this was still Odorizzi's worst performance since being shipped to Atlanta at the trade deadline. His 5.97 ERA, 1.62 WHIP and 33:14 K:BB through 37.2 innings for his new club are shaky at best, but with Spencer Strider (oblique) landing on the IL this week, Odorizzi's spot in the rotation for the rest of the season seems secure.

Odorizzi took a no-decision versus the Phillies on Saturday. He allowed a run on two hits and one walk while striking out five over 4.2 innings.
EDGE Analysis
While the surface stats look good, the Phillies were able to work some long at-bats against the right-hander. Odorizzi exited the game one out short of a win after throwing 61 of 93 pitches for strikes. He's now failed to complete six innings in six of his seven starts for Atlanta since coming over in a trade from Houston at the deadline. Through 93.2 innings this year, he has a 4.04 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 73:28 K:BB. Odorizzi is tentatively projected for a rematch on the road against the Phillies next week.

Odorizzi registered a no-decision during Sunday's 8-7 loss to Seattle, allowing four runs on five hits and three walks with three strikeouts in 3.2 innings.
EDGE Analysis
Making his return from an arm injury, Odorizzi served up a leadoff Julio Rodriguez long ball but kept Seattle's offense under control otherwise until he was chased in the fourth inning following four baserunners and three runs. The poor outing is the 32-year-old's second with Atlanta though he's held the opposition to no more than two runs in his other four turns. He's pitched to a 4.96 ERA and 1.55 WHIP in 29 innings with Atlanta and is scheduled to take the mound again next weekend against Philadelphia.

Odorizzi (arm) is slated to start Sunday's game in Seattle.
EDGE Analysis
Odorizzi was scratched from his most recent scheduled start last weekend due to arm fatigue, but he'll be plugged back into Atlanta's rotation for the series finale in Seattle after he completed a bullpen session Wednesday without incident. Since joining Atlanta in an Aug. 1 deal with Houston, Odorizzi has posted a 1-2 record to go with a 4.26 ERA and 1.46 WHIP across 25.1 innings.
