Cave is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Nationals.
EDGE Analysis
The lefty-hitting Cave is on the bench for the third straight game, with the latter two absences coming against left-handed pitching. Even though Kris Bryant (back) recently returned to the injured list to open up a regular spot in right field, Cave may not be on track to handle a strong-side platoon role as the Rockies give a longer look to rookie Jordan Beck. Cave has been serviceable against right-handed pitching this season (96 wRC+, .324 wOBA), but he's a 31-year-old on an expiring contract who is unlikely to be prioritized by the non-contending Rockies down the stretch.

Cave is absent from the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Nationals.
EDGE Analysis
It's southpaw DJ Herz on the hill for the Nationals, so the left-handed hitting Cave will begin this one on the bench. Jordan Beck is getting the call in right field for the Rockies.

Cave is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks.
EDGE Analysis
The lefty-hitting Cave will hit the bench for a second straight game to close out the series in Arizona while the Diamondbacks send another southpaw (Jordan Montgomery) to the bump. Jordan Beck will replace Cave in the Colorado outfield, manning left and batting seventh.

Cave is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Diamondbacks.

Cave went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in Sunday's 9-8 win over Atlanta.
EDGE Analysis
Cave's blast in the eighth inning sparked a seven-run comeback for the Rockies. The outfielder has tapped into his power this month, going 7-for-28 (.250) with three homers and nine RBI over nine contests in August. For the season, he has a .251/.296/.389 slash line with six homers, 31 RBI, 32 runs scored and four stolen bases over 96 games. All of those marks represent his best production since 2019.

Cave is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Mets.
EDGE Analysis
The lefty-hitting Cave will hit the bench for the series finale while the Mets send southpaw David Peterson to the hill. Cave looks to be secure in a strong-side platoon role in the Colorado outfield for the time being, but he'll see his opportunities to start against right-handed pitching take a hit once Nolan Jones (back) returns from the injured list. Jones hasn't appeared in any rehab games since last Saturday following the birth of his child, but he's expected to rejoin Triple-A Albuquerque in the coming days before eventually getting activated.

Cave went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's 6-3 win over the Mets.
EDGE Analysis
Cave's fourth-inning blast off Luis Severino was enough for the Rockies to secure the win. This was Cave's second homer in his last five games, but he's gone 15 contests without a multi-hit effort, batting a paltry .189 (10-for-53) in that span. For the season, the outfielder is at a .247/.291/.374 slash line with five homers, 27 RBI, 31 runs scored and four stolen bases over 92 contests in his first year with Colorado.

Cave is not in the starting lineup Saturday versus the Padres.

Cave went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer in Thursday's extra-inning win over the Angels.
EDGE Analysis
Cave went down on strikes in two of his first three at-bats before launching a two-run shot in the top of the ninth to tie the game at 4-4. It marked the outfielder's fourth long ball since the start of July and he's now hit safely in eight of his last nine starts. Still, he's batting just .222 (8-for-36) over that stretch with no multi-hit performances. Cave has also struck out twice in four of his last five contests.

Cave is out of the lineup for the first game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Giants.
EDGE Analysis
Cave won't face southpaw Blake Snell in the matinee, with Hunter Goodman, Brenton Doyle and Kris Bryant filling the outfield from left to right. Cave could be back in the lineup for the nightcap against right-hander Hayden Birdsong.
