Decker is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against Cleveland.
EDGE Analysis
Taylor Motter will get the start in right field as the Rays attempt to figure out their right field rotation in light of Mikie Mahtook (hand) and Steven Souza's (hip) injuries. Decker could still see regular playing time until one of them returns, but he'll need to get things turned around at the plate given that he's slashing .059/.111/.059 through 17 at-bats.

Decker is out of the lineup Sunday against the Giants, freelance Rays writer Roger Mooney reports.
EDGE Analysis
Decker, who was promoted from Triple-A Durham on Wednesday, had started the preceding three games in the corner outfield, but with the 26-year-old going just 1-for-13 since arriving in the big leagues, manager Kevin Cash will pull the plug on giving Decker regular starts, at least temporarily. With Decker hitting the bench, Mikie Mahtook and Corey Dickerson will start in right and left field, respectively.

Decker had his contract selected Wednesday, Roger Mooney of the Tampa Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Decker hasn't put up overwhelming numbers in the minors this year, slashing just .233/.351/.358 in 54 games, but with Steven Souza (hip) temporarily on the shelf, the big league club is in need of outfield depth. The lefty could see some playing time in the majors, but he'll likely be reduced mostly to a bench role during his current stint. Dana Eveland was designated for assignment in a corresponding move to clear room on the roster.

Dacker is expected to be called up to the majors today, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Dacker's call up suggests that Steven Souza might be more seriously injured than it first seemed after leaving Tuesday's game with hip soreness. There are a number of outfielders on the Rays that will take up Souza's playing time, so Dacker's call-up is likely for depth purposes.

The Rays optioned Decker to minor league camp Sunday, Steve Carney of 620 WDAE reports.
EDGE Analysis
Decker has received brief run in the majors in each of the last three seasons, including a career-high 28 at-bats in 23 games with the Pirates in 2015. Handed a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training from the Rays in January, he reached base with regularity this month, accruing a .370/.393/.556 line with one walk versus five strikeouts in 27 at-bats. If he keeps up the pace at his likely landing spot at Triple-A Durham, it may only be a matter of time before he makes his first appearance with the Rays.

Decker signed a minor league contract with the Rays on Friday that includes an invitation to spring training, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Decker profiles best as a Quadruple-A player, splitting time between Triple-A and the majors for the last three season. He most recently stopped in the Pirates organization, where he got 36 major league at-bats, but batted a meager .214. That being said, Decker is an on-base machine with some speed potential, shown by his OBP of .370 and 18 steals with Triple-A Indianapolis, which could help the left-hander compete for the fifth outfield spot for Tampa Bay.

Decker wasn't tendered a contract by the Pirates on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Decker was one the Pirates' September callups in 2015 and batted .214/.371/.321 primarily in a backup outfield role. The Pirates are pretty loaded in the outfield and should be for many years to come which led to Decker not receiving a contract tender.

Decker came off the bench to notch a pinch-hit double and score the Pirates' lone run in a 3-1 loss to the Reds.
EDGE Analysis
The Pirates have everyday starters locked in at each outfield position, limiting Decker's fantasy prospects this season. Nevertheless, Decker has now secured three hits in a reserve role since rosters expanded. Decker stole 18 bases at Triple-A Indianapolis this season, but hasn't shown any speed in each of his stints at the big league level.

Decker was recalled from Triple-A on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Decker has seen limited looks at the big league level over the last three seasons, and he's ben nothing more than average at the Triple-A level. In 69 Triple-A games this season, Decker is hitting .266 with 26 RBI, 36 walks and 38 strikeouts. He's also stolen 18 bags after swiping only seven in 104 games in 2014.

Decker (left calf strain) was activated from his rehab assignment and optioned to Triple-A Indianapolis on Saturday, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's Bill Brink reports. This is just a bookkeeping move, as Decker was already working out with Indianapolis. He will offer organizational outfield depth, but will likely need an injury to crack into the Pirates' impressive outfield mix.
