DeGrom (elbow) threw a 32-pitch bullpen session Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Texas manager Bruce Bochy said the session went "really well" and added deGrom is scheduled to throw another bullpen session Friday, at which time he'll incorporate breaking balls. The Rangers have not yet decided if the right-hander will need a rehab assignment.

DeGrom (elbow) will throw a third bullpen session Monday, Shawn McFarland of the Dallas Morning News reports.
EDGE Analysis
DeGrom, who threw a couple light bullpen sessions last week, will throw a third Monday and could "possibly" throw to live hitters by the end of the week. The pitcher said it felt like he had turned a corner after Friday's session.

DeGrom (elbow) threw a 25-pitch bullpen session Friday, Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News reports.
EDGE Analysis
This marked the second time this week deGrom threw a session. After Friday's exercise, he rested before going to the outfield to play catch. It was all positive news for deGrom, who said he feels like he's "turned a corner" in his recovery from what was diagnosed as elbow inflammation. "Everything felt good," deGrom said. "We are heading in the right direction." The Rangers haven't discussed a rehab assignment yet, and it should be noted the right-hander didn't take a significant amount of time away from throwing.

DeGrom (elbow) threw a "light" bullpen Tuesday, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.
EDGE Analysis
DeGrom is still a few weeks away from a return from the elbow inflammation that placed him on the 15-day injured list at the end of April. The right-hander will likely advanced to more traditional bullpens in the coming days and then could begin a rehab assignment if he continues to make positive progress. At this point, it looks likely deGrom is back in the Texas rotation right around the start of June.

Rangers manager Bruce Bochy told reporters before Tuesday's game against Seattle that deGrom (elbow) could be another two-to-three weeks away from his return, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bochy noted that deGrom has been going very easy with testing out his throwing while only playing light catch at this stage in his program. The right-hander has no timetable for when he'll be able to return to the mound for bullpen sessions, and that step will have to take place before a more serious ETA for deGrom's return to the Texas pitching staff. At this point, it seems very unlikely that the 34-year-old will back back in the month of May, with the start of June seeming to be a more realistic timeline at this conjecture.

DeGrom (elbow) remains limited to playing light catch and there is no timetable for when he will be cleared to throw off a mound, Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News reports.
EDGE Analysis
"We're going very easy with it and testing it out," Rangers manager Bruce Bochy said. While deGrom is eligible to return from the injured list Sunday, it's clear that it's going to take longer than that, perhaps much longer. Understandably, the Rangers want to proceed very cautiously with the prized right-hander as he works his way back from right elbow inflammation. Dane Dunning got the first start in deGrom's place and could be set for multiple turns through the rotation.

DeGrom (elbow) is slated to begin playing catch during the Rangers' May 5-14 road trip, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.
EDGE Analysis
When exactly he'll play catch during the road trip isn't clear, but it's good news that it's coming soon. DeGrom landed on the injured list last weekend with right elbow inflammation and is eligible for activation in mid-May. Whether he'll be ready to go at that time remains to be seen.

Texas placed deGrom on the 15-day injured list Saturday with right elbow inflammation.
EDGE Analysis
The Rangers are recalling Yerry Rodriguez from Triple-A Round Rock in a corresponding transaction. This comes after deGrom left Friday's start against the Yankees after dealing with tightness in his right forearm, and unsurprisingly the result is another stint on the injured list for the right-hander. The good news is there doesn't appear to be structural damage for deGrom, so he could be back in the rotation in the middle of May if everything goes well.

The Rangers announced that deGrom left Friday's start against the Rangers with forearm tightness, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports. He allowed no runs over 3.2 innings with one walk and two strikeouts before leaving.
EDGE Analysis
DeGrom has now left two of his last three starts with injuries, as he dealt with wrist soreness earlier in the campaign. The right-hander assuredly will undergo imaging to check for structural damage, and while he should be considered day-to-day for now, a trip to the injured list cannot be ruled out at this point.

DeGrom (2-0) earned the win Sunday, allowing two runs (one earned) on three hits and zero walks over six innings against the Athletics. He struck out 11.
EDGE Analysis
DeGrom dispelled any worries fantasy managers had about the wrist injury that forced him out of his last start after four innings, striking out 11 batters while giving up just one run over six innings Sunday. After sporting a 4.32 ERA in his first three starts, DeGrom has recovered nicely with just one earned run combined in his last two appearances. He has recorded a 14.5 K/9 on the season.
