DeGrom threw a bullpen session Saturday, his first since the start of training camp, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
DeGrom entered camp healthy after dealing with a second Tommy John elbow surgery that wiped out much of 2023 and 2024. The right-hander made three starts last September and recorded a 1.69 ERA over 10.2 innings. A healthy deGrom is key for the Rangers, who have won seven of the pitcher's nine starts over the last two seasons.

DeGrom came away with a no-decision in Friday's 5-2 win over the Angels, allowing one run on four hits over four innings. He struck out five without walking a batter.
EDGE Analysis
The 36-year-old right-hander was sharp in his final start of 2024, topping out at 98.7 mph with his fastball and firing 39 of 53 pitches for strikes. A cautious recovery from Tommy John surgery cost deGrom most of the season, but in three September outings he delivered a 1.69 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 14:1 K:BB over 10.2 innings, suggesting he still has plenty left in the tank. He still has three years and $115 million left on his contract, plus a $20 million club option for 2028, so if he's healthy deGrom should play a big role in the Rangers' rotation plans for next season.

DeGrom did not factor into the decision in Friday's 8-2 loss against Seattle, allowing one run on three hits and one walk over three innings. He struck out five.
EDGE Analysis
The two-time Cy Young winner fired 58 pitches as he continues working his way back from an elbow injury that sidelined him through Sept. 13. DeGrom looked terrific once again, as he averaged 97.6 mph on his fastball and generated nine whiffs in total. The only blemish on his evening came via a Josh Rojas solo shot in the third inning, the first run deGrom has allowed over 6.2 total innings this season. The Texas right-hander is currently scheduled to make his last start, which should once again have a workload restriction, on the road against the Angels next week.

DeGrom (elbow) allowed four hits and struck out four without walking a batter over 3.2 scoreless innings in a no-decision versus the Mariners on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
DeGrom stretched out to 61 pitches (41 strikes) in a sharp outing for his first major-league action since April of 2023. He'll likely remain on a workload limit to finish out the campaign after throwing no more than four innings in any of his four rehab starts. DeGrom is tentatively projected to make his next start at home versus the Blue Jays.

The Rangers activated deGrom (elbow) from the 60-day injured list Friday.
EDGE Analysis
DeGrom will make his 2024 debut Friday against the Mariners after spending the entire year on the injured list while recovering from Tommy John surgery from June of 2023. He only gave up one earned run and stuck out 15 batters across his four rehab outings, and he'll rejoin the Rangers' rotation for the tail end of the regular season. Right-hander Owen White was optioned to Triple-A Round Rock in a corresponding move.

DeGrom (elbow) will start Friday's game against the Mariners, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports.
EDGE Analysis
DeGrom has been on the injured list all season while working his way back from a Tommy John procedure he underwent last June. Now that he's made four rehab appearances in the minors, during which he allowed just one earned run across 10.2 innings while striking out 15 batters, he's been given the green light to make his season debut and help out the Rangers' rotation for the final several weeks of the season. Although the four-time All-Star hasn't pitched since April 2023, his minor-league performance and favorable matchup against a weak Mariners offense suggest that he'll pick up right where he left off during his first start back in the majors.

DeGrom (elbow) allowed one hit and struck out five over four scoreless innings in a rehab start for Double-A Frisco on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
DeGrom made his fourth rehab start, and the four innings were the most he's thrown. The right-hander, who was scheduled to throw 60 pitches, was too efficient, dispatching the opposition on just 49 throws. The Rangers plan to have deGrom return from the 60-day injured list to make his season debut in the majors at some point during Texas' road trip to Arizona and Seattle that begins Tuesday and runs through next Sunday.

DeGrom (elbow) will make his next start at Double-A Frisco on Saturday, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Rangers had floated the idea of having deGrom pitch with the big-league club Saturday, but it has now been confirmed that he'll make one more rehab outing. He has yet to complete more than 2.2 innings with Frisco, so the team will likely look to stretch him out a bit more in his final start before activation.

Rangers manager Bruce Bochy said Monday that deGrom (elbow) is likely to make one more rehab start, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
While Bochy confirmed the team has weighed the option of having deGrom start for the Rangers instead of Double-A Frisco on Saturday, he added that "I don't think that's what we're going to do." DeGrom would be slated to go four innings with Frisco on Saturday, setting him up for his season debut with the Rangers the following weekend in Seattle.

DeGrom (elbow) could make his season debut Saturday against the Angels, Jeff Wilson of AllDLLS.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
DeGrom had been scheduled for one more rehab start with Double-A Frisco, but now the Rangers are considering having him start for them that day instead. If his outing is at Frisco, he will go four innings. If it's with the major-league club, he would be scheduled for just three frames. DeGrom has been excellent in his first three rehab starts, allowing one run on just three hits and one walk while striking out 10 over 6.2 innings. The 36-year-old is coming back from a second Tommy John surgery.
