Pittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Ivan Nova is away from the team for personal reasons and missed his start against the Blue Jays on Sunday. Nick Kingham started in his place on Sunday. It's unclear when Nova will return to join the team's rotation, so stay tuned. The veteran right-hander has gone 7-9 this year with a 4.35 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and weak 6.1 K/9 across 25 starts. He's useful in NL-only and deeper mixed leagues as a streamer in appealing matchups.

Pittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Ivan Nova was only able to complete 3 2/3 innings on Tuesday against the St. Louis Cardinals. The Cardinals got to Nova with six hits that scratched four runs. Two of the hits Nova gave up were home runs. He also walked two batters while only managing to get one strikeout. Tuesday night brought his ERA up to 4.35 on the year. Nova now owns a 7-9 record as his season continues to slip. Don't look to him for much fantasy value as the year closes down.

Pittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Ivan Nova took a loss against the Chicago Cubs on Thursday. Nova gave up seven hits over 6 2/3 innings, but only surrendered one run. Nova only struck out three Chicago hitters, but he did well against a great lineup. He has a 4.26 ERA this season, and a 7-7 record. He has a mediocre 6.37 K/9. Nova is worth streaming, but he isn't a flashy fantasy option going into the fantasy playoffs.
