Yonder Alonso (hand) said Friday that he hopes to return from the disabled list in three weeks. Alonso suffered a fractured hand last Friday and Padres general manager Josh Byrnes believes he could miss a month. While it's nice to see the optimism and strong desire to return, the Padres will likely play things safe. Before the injury, the 26-year-old was off to a terrific start, hitting .284/.335/.416 with six homers and 29 RBI through his first 54 games. Kyle Blanks and Jesus Guzman are likely to see the majority of the starts at first base until Alonso returns.
