Yonder Alonso (hand) hopes to be cleared to begin baseball activities on Monday after visiting a hand specialist. Alonso was recently able to remove the splint on his right hand, which has a fracture of the metacarpal on his middle finger. He'll undergo a CT scan Monday to see how the bone has healed before hopefully being cleared. "[Training staff] took it off today and they started touching it around where it was hurting," Alonso said Thursday. "[Before] it was probably an eight or nine [out of 10 on the pain scale]. But it's probably down to a three or four. It's made a significant amount of progress in the last week, week and a half."
