Yankees optioned RHP Ivan Nova to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Nova posted a 3.35 ERA since the beginning of June, but it wasn't enough to save his spot in the rotation. He'll serve as rotation insurance at Triple-A. Though the Yankees have not yet made the announcement, Nova's demotion virtually guarantees that Phil Hughes will come off the DL to start Wednesday against the Indians.
