Yankees general manager Brian Cashman said Jayson Nix will be the team's starting shortstop for the remainder of the postseason with Derek Jeter (ankle) out. Eduardo Nunez will be added to the roster to take the spot of Jeter, who fractured his left ankle in the 12th inning of Saturday's loss to the Tigers. Nix, 30, had a couple hits in his lone start this postseason, but he's a career .214/.285/.371 hitter over parts of five major league seasons. Obviously, it's not an ideal situation for the Yanks.
