Yahoo Sports' Tim Brown reports that the Phillies and Mike Adams are close to a two-year deal with a vesting option for a third year.

The Phillies have decided to put some of their Shane Victorino-Hunter Pence savings into building one of the game's most expensive reports. KRIS-TV reported earlier that the Adams contract would be worth $18 million over three years. They may have the dollars right, but Brown reports that the third year will be in the form of a vesting option.
