Yahoo! Sports' Tim Brown hears that Brian Wilson (elbow) has been told by Dr. James Andrews that he will be cleared for spring training and be ready by Opening Day. It's been the sense all along, but it's good to have more clarity. Wilson was non-tendered by the Giants last week but shouldn't have trouble landing at the back-end of a bullpen somewhere, though he'll likely have to accept an incentive-laden, short-term deal.
