Wright, pitching on two days rest, threw 3.1 relief innings to pick up the win Sunday against Oakland. He allowed one hit and one walk while striking out two in relief of Clay Buchholz. The day began with the news that Wright, who threw 92 pitches as a starter Thursday, was being moved to the bullpen. The knuckle-baller will be Boston's long relief man out of the pen, at least until Justin Masterson (shoulder) returns from the disabled list.
