Wright pitched four scoreless innings in Friday's spring game against the Blue Jays. He gave up three hits, all singles, and walked one while striking out one. "A good mix of all three of his pitches, (with) a curveball he's worked on this spring, he's incorporated it more to get back into counts," manager John Farrell told the Boston Herald. "He was very much in control."
EDGE Analysis
The knuckle-balling Wright has put together a nice start to spring training, allowing two runs on eights hits and two walks in seven innings. The longer Eduardo Rodriguez (knee) goes without throwing off a mound, the more likely it is he begins the season on the disabled list and the more likely someone like Wright or Henry Owens opens the regular season in Boston's starting rotation.
