Wright (neck) will meet with team doctors this week to discuss whether the veteran third baseman will require surgery, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Although DiComo reports that Wright would likely opt to stick with rehabbing the injury rather than going the surgical route, Wright will nonetheless meet with doctors to determine if surgery is the best option. He was shut down for 6-to-8 weeks when he was placed on the DL on June 3, which means he'd be out until late July or early August in the best case scenario. If surgery ends up being the course of action, it would stretch out that timetable by a significant amount in all likelihood.
