Wright and Roenis Elias are candidates to take the rotation spot of Eduardo Rodriguez, who will open the regular season on the disabled list with a knee injury, the Boston Globe reports.
EDGE Analysis
Until Thursday, it looked like Henry Owens was being considered, but he had a second straight poor outing and continues to battle command issue. Wright's been a good soldier for Boston the last few seasons, pitching as both a reliever and starter. His spring numbers are better than Elias' but there's still a few more opportunities before April. In 11 career starts, Wright has a 4.01 and has consistently got them into the sixth inning.
