Wright allowed four runs (three earned) on six hits and zero walks while striking out two in Thursday's loss to the Twins. Wright threw four shutout innings before a fifth-inning mistake to Torii Hunter resulted in a three-run homer and came away with a no-decision. He's been competitive in five starts since entering the rotation, but that may not be enough for him to make a sixth start. The Red Sox have been rolling six starters the last two times through the rotation, but are expected to cut back to five come early next week. Clay Buchholz, Eduardo Rodriguez, Rick Porcello and Wade Miley are locked in. The final spot comes down to Wright and Joe Kelly, who pitches Saturday.
