Wright (9-5) gave up eight hits, four earned runs and three walks over five innings in Friday's 5-4 victory over the Angels. He struck out three.
EDGE Analysis
The knuckleballer took a shutout into the sixth inning, but appeared to be affected considerably by the rain that started falling at that point. He loaded the bases with no one out, and then saw C.J. Cron drive a 3-2 pitch over the Green Monster for a grand slam. Thanks to the 5-0 lead he'd walked into the inning with, Wright was still able to escape with his first victory in his last three trips to the mound. He'll go for the first double-digit win season of his career when he takes on the Rangers next Wednesday.
